Blackbird clutch

It is time to replace the clutch. Anybody have any advice on heavier clutch springs and a good place to get new parts? Also, this will be the first time I have changed a bike clutch so any tips on avoiding mistakes is more than welcome.

Are you DragRacing it?...If so how many passes did you get from the old clutch???

Use OEM clutch plates ( frictions/steels ) Clean the steel plates before you soak the steels/frictions in oil before installing the new plates...

Take note as to the way the plates are set up in the basket, put new plates in the same way you took out the old ones...

Hope that helps!!!

Heavier springs for sure. Might check with Kent Stotz or Bill Hahn or EFR Racing for advice on clutch setup vs hp.

Heavier springs should hold til at least 200hp.

I'd definitely buy a shop manual. The steels are press-cut, put the 'sharp' side in toward the basket, like CR says. Barnett prolly makes stiff springs, maybe mix with OEM if you have an even number until you like it.

Thanks for the responses guys. Sorry it took me so long to reply, I have been busy trying to buy a house. Went to local honda shop and ordered a complete kit from Barnett. Can't wait till I get it on and try it out.

BIG MISTAKE. Did you not read the thread?? Barnett is the WORST clutch available.

You'll learn soon enough.
