I'll be happy to help you install that airshifter Bergie, to make sure it works reliably. Then maybe we can line up? A little 1109cc ZRX against your big bad ZX12r? :P

This is fun over here Bergie, the first time I used NOS, I had a POS NOS Button. It broke on the second run. I had to bypass it and use the WOT Switch only. The Bike was a Witch (B) to ride with me hitting WOt in 1st and 2nd gear several times and the bike stepping out on me. This year I hooked up an MPS Heavy duty button and at least there I had no problems.

BTW, I got my "Bypass Fuel Regulator" from Jeggs and will hook it up this weekend and hopefully the Muzzy pump will be here next week and then I will see what I can see on the Dyno. I have 4 gallons of 120 and 112 mixed 1 to 1 for about 116 octane. So pre Ignition should not be a problem.

How much of a problem is it to get use shifting(horn button)and hitting the starter button for nitrous? Seems a little busy to me.

It will be a little awkward at first but you'll soon get use to it like second nature. However there are much better ways of doing it, like a full throttle micro switch to activate a proggressive NOS controller.
An air shifter is the way to go though. Once you use one you will never go back to foot shifting. Some people it helps lower their E.T. while other it dont help much, but it will make you more consistent and consistently faster. Just say that your best ever time was a 9.90 foot shifting but you consistently runs 10.0's. Well an airshifter will make you run consistent 9.90's. Know what I mean ?
Ive never met anyone who has installed one and not liked it. If your serious about drag racing get one ASAP.

not only that but on a zx12 you have less clutch slippage and also less basket failures. and we know we have clutch issues.

OMG I see we have some real scientists here, LOL, your conclusions appear to be drawn on opinion, not facts.

I discount all claims that as a general rule airshifters will make you either more consistant, any quicker, or faster.

There is absolutely no evidence that airshifters will improve ET, trapspeed or consistancy. I challenge you to perform a scientific study to prove otherwise, and document the results.

And there is absolutely no proof that they reduce clutch slippage on a zx12 or prevent basket failures either!

WTF do you guys just make shit up and claim it as facts or what?

Everything I stated is by expierence, so if thats what it did for me is that not fact ? We know your stand on an air shifter but your the only one on this thread that doesnt like it, prolly cause youve never used one. The point is they work, they do make some people faster, they do make you more consistent, they do not miss shifts as often as foot shifting, these are facts. Not opinions. And no I'm not gonna prove it to you. Your living in the stone age if you drag race and do not use an air shifter. LOL.

every time you pull the clutch it slips every time you let it go it hammers and chatter when hooking back up what u think shatters the baskets? a clutch that stays engaged from the start will be more consistant and will help clutch wear and will not hammer the basket as bad. and also ofsetting the last plate in the basket helps destroy them as well. that clutch is the first 1 that gets the impact from engagement. the splines on the basket r very delicate out there. i have been running a stock basket with the muzzy mod hub. and a few of my own tricks for a long time with no problems. 198 hp motor 250 hp on spray. so i know first hand what to do. its proven to me. i have never blown this motor and been running the hell out of it for years. if you dont know something ask someone who does. AIR SHIFTERS WERE PROVEN BEFORE MOST OF US WERE BORN,

Ok, I will preform this study next season! I will do 1 run with the air shfter and 1 without, and repeat for 10 runs each. this will show exactly how consistant, and how fast, and bla, bla, bla... I will give this a fair and honest evaluation. and I will let everyone know where and when I am going to do it. that way we can have witnesses.... somebody has to buy me beer though for all of this hard reasearch.

i agree bout the airshifter
nothing is more annoying than watching a bunch of sissies that never learned to foot shift dragging their feet down the whole quarter mile! frikkin lazy bastards!!!!!!

I'm no expert here but i dont think you could get your foot up to the pegs when piloting a pro-stock bike or anything that fast. I bet a 1.2 - 1.0 60' foot would keep your legs dangling for a while. LOL

The airshifter worked for me. I've done it both ways, and I've had less missed shifts with than without. Mabey I'm just not that good a rider but, its a fact for me. There's no way in hell I could have got my foot back for a 1-2 shift on a 1.50 60ft run. Like I said, mabey its cause I'm a newbie at this thing.

no problems here 1.47 60' and there are alot quicker bikes and riders than me foot shifting to mid 8s on street bikes, sound like the problem is you quit and never learned because you bought a crutch to do it for you. Maybe you would be faster if you learned to footshift, then added an airshifter?
