Need opinion on this Akro pipe.
How can a guy tell if this is the Evolution or Race version from the picture. Is it titanium or stainless? It has 1500 miles on it.
Thanks for any help.

Going by the color being mostly gold, it's the Race system, because the headpipe & S-bend are stainless steel.
The Evolution can be similar in design, but the headpipe & S-bend are made from Titanium. It does not look like a Ti pipe to me.

Thats what my intial feelings were.
The Akro on my Busa was stainless up front.............only the canister was titanium. And gold was the color it turned, thats for sure. I got no purple or blue however anywher near the mid-pipe. The 12R does seem to make a lot more heat though.....(probably the difference in compression).
Thanks for the reply k bryant.............I know it's hard to say for sure looking at this picture.

My SS/CF Street System is a 4-2-1. This one looks like a 4-1. Also, my street system doesn't have the cross members between headers. My guess is, this is an older street system ? I believe the early Akros were 4 into 1.

Wow, i'm really resurrecting an old thread here. Warbird, the easiest way to tell the EVO from the race (stainless) systems is in the bracing for the balance tubes. The stainless doesn't have any bracing. The titanium system has the bracing like that shown in this pic:

Yea you can get the Ti Akra for 400 bucks more,BUT it don't make any more power than the other pipe. It's a small amount lighter that's all.
