PC-III or IIIr
I have heard some guys keep the ign map all zero's so wouldn't a PC-III do just fine, Are they different for a 2000-2001 and a 2002. I have a 2002

I got mine from spencer cycle and I have an 02 also. Anyway they are the same but the maps you load are different such as 00-01 maps start with 204-000 and the 02 is 206-000 for the zero map. I did change my ign map to get more power and help fuel mix, it also allowed me to get it smoother below 4k. It is up to you but I am sure there are alot of guys that know more here that can help.

First off the A model PC and the B model PC are different....the B model has an extra wire that comes off of it......the maps are different.....but there are hundreds of maps on the net......i run a III and a mechanical advance from Muzzy...as opposed to a IIIr

Plugs are the same - you right, Steve. Dyno Jet says you gotta run the right maps, though. That's the difference.

they sent me one for a Amodel bike at first, sent it back....the B model PC has an additional ground wire......maybe that is why all you guys are having PC problems...running any old thing that will fit...instead of THE RIGHT STUFF.......think about it.....

HDL... whaaaa ????
The 3r has a ground wire. The PC3 doesnt. Early model PC3s (and Rs) might have had wire loom issues... but DJ will correct that if you send it back. Not sure if there is a charge though.

why are there so many used exhaust systems and PC's out there with low miles used, are people unhappy with the way they run, or what, i'm just waiting to see how cheap I can get a used system, then if I don't like it i'll just sell it again I guess.....

Will a PC3r map work in a PC3? I am thinking about buying a 3 instead of an r cause they are so cheap.

Ive seen quite a few "PC3s" that do accept timing changes.
You can actually have a laptop hooked to the bike while running and hear the difference. YMMV.
I know the last 2 I personally owned were capable.
