I just talked to the dealer and he said come pick up the green machine it's all ready and I got the day off too.
Anyone have any special suggestion's on breaking it in?

Read your manual & check fluid levels before riding any distance...
Dealer "prep" tends to vary a lot...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As for break-in, find your favorite set of twisties & row the gearbox; vary the revs, watch the temp guage...
I've had good luck w/the above, course Dougie would be the expert here...
Mark,
Just broke in mine (well, 1400km anyway, good enough).
I found the 'box false neutrals dissappeared after 1000km, also use a bike mineral oil for running in (up to 1000 miles, bike oils don't have the friction modifiers which can screw up your clutch plates), then switch to fully synthetic.
First chance you get, open up your airbox and clean out all the shit that's in there from the factory (snad/gtit), and oil your air-filters as they are shipped dry and my dealer didn't oil them.
Have fun!
East Bay Dave said it very well! Accelerate and let off! In other words "Ride it just like the Harley guys do (Only they do it to listen to the pipes and to keep the engine cool and not Blow up!!) Also vary the amount of power in the acceleration! The reason (in my mind) is there are a lot of parts that do not fit very well and have edges and burs that heat up and can burn scratched if they are not allowed to cool! So heat them up and remove a little metal and then let them cool and shrink! Then repeat the process until it no longer is happening! Change Oil and filter at 500 miles with regular Oil and then go 1500 more miles then change Oil & Filter again! You actually wnat a little imperfections in the oil because it helps break in the engine! (Change at 500 because you want to remove the big stuff and high volume down to a lower volume)!! Enjoy
Thank's for your info,
I put 50 miles on it today I am going out to night and put on a few more after it cools off, it got up to 94F outside the dealer said that's to hot to be breaking a new motor in.
Anyhow I like the feel of this thing can't wait to take it over 4000rpm!
I was riding it and missed a gear and took it to 8000rpm thats not good right?
MM, I picked mine up in my van and took to home! There were no service manuals (4/4/00) but I took mine straight home and spent 2 days going over things (I still had to go to work. 50 pounds of air in the tires, Rear Wheel out of alignment, Oil level about site glass, things misaligned! Then I took it for a ride. Put a few hunderd on it that night an was changing Oil and filter that weekend (Actually just the Oil because they did not have filters yet! Had to change Oil and filter at 2,000 miles and never looked back
Mark,
Take that bitch out and give it the berries. Run it up through the rpm's a lot and run it through a few heat cycles. Take it up to a few gears higher than you need to be in and roll it on and run it through the revs. Do this a few times to seat the rings in and then change the oil a lot. After 1k or 1500 miles change it to synthetic, have fun.
Don't sweat the "heat cycle" thing too much on the basis of "heat-treating" or "stress-relieving" engine internals - the temperatures inside an engine are nowhere high enough to stress-relieve steel or aluminium.
Good idea to keep the temp lowish for a start though, to let any tight tolerances free up a bit before letting things expand and bed-in further.
And apart from the first 10/20 miles, the odd burst of no-load high revs won't do any harm.
If you read the owner's manual though, you would think the engine was going to self-destruct given the first chance.....
