Need to replace fairing

All,
I need to replace the lower left fairing on my '01 12R. Ron Ayers has them priced at $249.09 - without pads, winglet, and sticker. For those who have already had to do this:

1) Is this the best price anyone has found for the fairing?
2) The pads & winglet on the old fairing are still good. Can they be used on the new fairing or will I need to buy them also?

Thanks in advance.
Mark

Keep an eye on the ebay ZX12R site, there are usually a few for auction.

eBay is the best place to find the fairings at a dirt cheap price.

But, in answer to your question, you can reuse the winglet, and if you can get the pads off without tearing them, then you can reuse them too.

You'll probably get charged double if you tell him that.

You can easily remove the foam pads.
Just take a single edge razor blade and gently slide it along the glue between the pad and plastic while lgently lifting the foam up and back over itself..
A light "slicing" action worked well when I did this.
To reattach the foam to the new plastic, get a can of 3M Spray conctact adhesive.
Give the foam a double coat of the adhesive and let it tack off. Place it where you want it cuz you aren't gonna move it once it touches the plastic. I placed the foam on the plastic without the adhesive and made a few reference marks so when I did glue it I would get a good placement.

Yes the winglet is movable from one panel to another, IF the thread inserts in the winglet dont strip out of the plastic when removing the 2 screws that secure it. It that hapens a bit of JB Weld will refasten the thread insert back into the winglet.
Good Luck!
