Miladin has comments for Eboz

After Eric Bostrom was quoted as saying it isn't fair to have to race against the GSXR1000s. Mat Miladin offered some comments for Eric. He pointed out that he beat Eric three years in a row on a 750 Suzuki and that it is not Suzuki's or Miladin's problem that the company Eric signed (Kawasaki)with made the decision to not compete at the limits of the rules. Miladin pointed out that Kawasaki is a good company and that he had in past years won 30 or so races in Australia on a Kawasaki!

He also took the time to give conrats to Nickey Hayden on his GP performance. In this particular circumstance as much as I dislike Miladin I have to agree with him!

Kawasaki owes Eric and it's customers a ZX10R.

I'd like to tell them what ain't fair. It's not fair that I was raised too poor to be one of these young road racers. They are living my dream. I always wonder if these young guns realize how lucky they are. Now that I can afford to race, I'm an old fogey.

dittos on that 12R!

Over the years I have sponsored some pretty serious riders in both Road Racing and MotoCross. And One of the things you get to hear a lot is if I had better equipment I would win. The only reason those guys are faster then me is because of their equipment. I have heard that having spent a fortune, having exhausted my resources and connections to give riders litterally unobtainable pieces and components. What is funny is that on a few occassions along the way I have talked champion riders to throw a leg over our bike and run some laps. And in every occassion the rider came back with a grin, said it is quite set up for them but they liked it, loved the power etc. And frankly they also ran near record times on those bikes!

I have loaned bikes to top riders that have crashed their bike in practice and watched them go out and set track records and win races. Certainly equipment is important, but what is more important is a rider that gets on the bike with the sole intention of winning. It goes back to how you percieve the glass. 1/2 full or 1/2 empty.

When these young men get as old as us perhaps they will realize how fortunate they were to have been paid to do something tht most all of us would do for free and in many cases pay money to do!

The glass is neither half full nor half empty. The glass is twice as large as it needs to be.

Agreed.....

I agree with Mat, but on the other hand I kinda feel for Eboz. The guy has placed 2nd in the points the past 2 seasons, and always just rides the wheels of that Kaw. I'd just like to see the guy get a chance to be as dominant as we all know he could be. Kaw needs to put Eric on a competitive ride and give him a better chance at winning a Superbike Championship.

With all that said, I won't count Eric out just yet. It's way early in the season and a 5th,4th, & 2nd place finish is no too shabby. He did a great job this past weekend!!!!

My impressions for what it's worth is that E Boz is one hell of a class act besides probably the best racer out there. Even though the ZX7RR is only 800cc 's I think they will be there in the end as we all know that bike HANDLES! I'm sure there is a few more ponys to get out of that new engine combo also. Who says you need big cc's to gaurantee wins?!?!? Check out Tommy Haydens performance. No one whined about him!

well i dont expect suzuki(im not a fan) to sit on their butts
their 1k has a 750 head..........they know the comp next year will be better than good
altho most all the comp will come from 1st year bikes

realizing that if they revise their 1k it will be new.......
still 1 up simply because it will have a season of racing & developement
maybe not 1 for 1... still an advantage over a freshman effort

suzuki will be divergent ie they race a v4(motoGP)..... an inline 4 otherwise
smart $$$$(honda) says race & market(showroom) in approx 18months

all can only hope race & developement from motoGP
will trickle down directly to street bikes
great handle .... low weight & lotz of HP

rumors is right now....kaw.... yam & honda will have new 1k's next year
the zook may be new as it may actually be an evolution.....
a result of ongoin developement & racing
no doubt there are dynos screaming in japan as we speak
still nothing improves the breed like racing

I just hope that Kawi doesn't disappoint us with the 10. I want it to be better than the Gixxer. The letdown after the major ZX12 hype was enough for one lifetime.

everyone can wish & want............
what i think KHI should do.......

is
a single seater race replica
right on the class weight limit....Stock!!
200hp .....!!!!! stock!!!!
not a lot of unobtainum
plenty of kick you in the nutz attitude
ballz to the wall performance
none of that woulda .... coulda crap

whatz everybody wants
would be a great base to go racing
would shock & awe
later they could build the more docile street model (2 up & all the rest)
( they already do 2 models of the 600's)
would be a hell of a model introduction

im talkin in your face KHi SMAKDOWN !!!!!!!
