New Mods

I have a New ZX-12 with 0 miles on her. I have all the mods i need for the time being, I was wondering if I put the Fans, K&N's and the pipe on, then once i get it broke in put the PC3R on is that the better than putting the PC3R on right of the bat????? Let me know.

Put the PCIIIr on with the pipe and put a map on it for that pipe. Should be a ton of them available. Thenafter you are all broken in step up and have a custom map done. Depending on the pipe you put on your idle could be crap, you could have a glitch in the middle etc. But with the various maps available you shoould be able to get things sorted out close enough for break in.

maybe i'm just old school, but i prefer not to take chance with A/M stuff during the break in. if something goes wrong, the dealer can be pricks and say no warranty coverage, or the company can do the same

it isn't all THAT long for the break in, and it gives you some time to get used to the new machine before upping the output. besides, stock the bloody thing makes gobs of power anyway ;P
also for purely analytical stuff, it would be nice to have before & after dyno runs so you know what your pipe and PC3 did for you, and im not sure a dyno run on 0.0 miles is good idea either ;P

just my $0.12 (inflation)

I think that's a good idea. Dealerships can be like insurance companies...they'll look for any reason not to cover you and your bike. Don't give them an easy out. This bike actually gets stronger during and after the break in. Once it's at full stock power then put everything on. You'll be happy you did.

A thousand miles goes buy really fast unless you live in Alask and it's winter time! Of course looking at some of the pictures Vincent and some of the other guys have posted from back East it might be tough to do there this time of year also.

But the truth is break it in like the manual says and you won't regret it.

If you are gonna mess with a PC3, you will most likely have the rear seat off about 11287 times.
Do yourself a favor and buy a DINO seat hinge kit. It will be the best money you spend on your bike,no bull!!!!
Even if you dont do a single other thing to your bike put the dINO seat hinge on it.
The bike should have came oem with one, but Kawasaki doesnt have Dino working for them.
