WILL A 2004 ZX12R 1287 MOTOR FIT IN A 2003
if so what all do i need to do i bought another 12 i couldnt take it..... low miles and in pretty dam good condition let me know thank you

2000&2001.....2002&2003.....2004&2005.....
Those are the group years that the 12 are the same...If you mix the group years then youll need the ecu & wire harness from the motor you chose...

02+ motors are swapable if thats what you're asking in terms of bolting up.
But 04-05 have a different ECU.

So what exactly do ya need to do to make a 05 motor swap into an 02 bike...Will the 05 ECU plug into the 02`s harness??? Anyone know the swap process,or the easiest way....

The ECU will not plug to the old harnesh. I think the easiest way is to change the cranksaft sensor pickup plate (and possible the pickup itself - not sure) from the old to the new. And use the olds throttle bodies (new one has two sets of blades). Also in the new ones the KLEEN air valve is controlled from ECU. So if You would like to use the new ones ECU You would need the whole wire loom plus throttle bodies and lot of other parts. It's easier to use just the couple parts from the old engine and mount them to the new. As I assume You still have the old engine - just broken. Also the exhaust camsaft sensor pickup may be in different angle (so use the olds cam or modifie the pickup position) Don't remember straitght out of my head if it was different on 02 to 04 but at least it's different on 00 to others. There ones was good thread on what was needed but I think the main thing was that cranksaft sensor pickup plate (old one has 10 spikes new one something like 40 so You notice the difference).
