To part or sell?
I have a 2000 zx12 in need of leaving me.
Just poking around to see if there's enough demand for parts.
I have a complete bike plus many extras. (wheels, exhausts, tanks, ducts, seat, forks, etc.)

I've been contemplating this myself. Seems like the re-sale value of the 12R isn't what it used to be. Everyone seems to be ditching them to get on board a new 14R.
Maybe you could get more parting it, but that's a lot of work going through the hassle of waiting for every single part to sell, shipping it, etc. etc.
BTW, is this Dino, as in Dino Hinges/mirror block offs/etc?

My problem is if I sell it for squat outright, I still have a huge pile of extra stuff, and yes, it is I.

Tough choice to make. It would be more time and work to part it out but you would probably make more money. Also if you part it out you might end up with more extra parts laying around that didn't sell. I know there are still some 12R owners out there seeking parts. The stuff that I see sell good is side fairings, engine parts, and most after market stuff. Try listing your extra parts first before parting out the bike. Put the bike up for sale and see if you get any interest. Either way good luck with your sale.

You should KEEP it. I had a 2000 ZX12 that I sold a few years ago. BIG MISTAKE. I miss that bike and wish I still had it. I know I could get another one but it wouldn't be the same.

Don't sell it!!!
I had a 2000 red one that I bought new back in late 2000. Had it for about two years and invested $$$ in many mods. Sold it and have regreted it ever since. A few years ago I was fortunate enough in finding another one, "green 2000" from a buddy of mine which has a fortune in mods done to it, and I never looked back. Still have it. So my advice to you is keep the damn thing. It may be worth a fortune in another ten years or so.

I don't think they'll ever be worth a fortune, but the performance of this bike is hard to beat for how little they cost. And their re-sale isn't THAT great, compared to similar bikes (Hayabusa)

Hi all,
I have a 2000 (green one) that I bought new way back when... It mostly just sits in the garage and I too have been thinking of selling it? It has a stock engine but most all of the "bolt on" mods. like full exhaust, power commander, corbin seat, heli bars, Muzzy fan and block off plates, K& N filters, Goodridge steel braided brake lines, etc, etc.
So, how much is a bike like mine worth? and is it a better option to part it out? also what is the best way to sell the complete bike?

True, true true. I was thinking, Since the 2000 model is the first and only unrestricted model, That it would eventually become a sought after bike. But I may be just dreaming.
