went camping in the desert...was cloudy the whole drive, but then when it got dark, the sky directly above was open...saw between 50-100 between 1:30 - 2:30.
I saw a lot out of the corner of my eye, but they were faint...there were a few bright ones that streaked a good distance...

damnit nano, just cause ur partner likes to roll around in shit, doesnt mean u have to too!
i saw aa few. set my alarm clock to about half hour b4 it was supposed to peak, but slept right thru it. got up almost an hour after the peak & watched fer like 10 monutes from the balcony (not the greatest viewpoint, most directions obstructed. but damn, we musta had it much better than north america i guess, cause even with the strong ambient light from tokyo, i was seein them at an average of one every 5 seconds, and that was well after the peak & with a rather small patch of sky visible! was clear at least, but it usually is in tokyo. too bad i couldnt get up on the roof & lie down on a lawnchair. woulda been pretty cool! but was too damn tired anyhow.
