Turning over, but not starting

Here is the deal. 2000 ZX12R 12,xxx miles. I rode her for 200+ miles on Friday. I got home, burned the rear tire a smidget, and turned her off to raise the garagedoor. I jumped back on her and she turned over but did not start. I rolled her down the driveway and popped the clutch and she started right up. I let her run (afterwards I remembered she needs to run around 3000 rpm to recharge the battery) for 20 minutes and then shut her off. I tried to restart her immediately with turn over and no start. The next day she did the same but ended up doing nothing but clicking. I connected her to the truck with the negative on the rear brake pedal and positive to the nut on the side of the battery tray. Nothing. I have been checkin the juice in the battery and it stays between 11.41 and 11.72 volts. All fuses are intact. Not sure what else can be done or what the problem might be. I was told the rear pressure sensor is out, would that play a factor since it has been out since I got the bike in June at 4300 miles and she now has over 12k? I was also thinking would amps play a part in it startin even though she has enough volts?

maddfayce,
yr battery ought to show 12.6-12.8V with motor off, 13.8-14.2-ish revving it.

rear pressure sensor not a factor, nope

sounds like it's time to see the battery man.

you have put 8k on it since june???

you've been rolling!

after you replace the battery, why not roll down to the Texas Mile Oct 16-18; yr profile says SA, just a hop, skip & jump to Goliad.

I think there is a 30amp fuse at the back of the battery tray see if that's blown.

Fuse is good. Going with a Yuamah (spell check) battery. If I am not training soldiers that sounds great. I will check for posts on here and I can mapquest how to get there from here.

could it be the plugs? I know when my plugs fouled it was the same way. It ran once or twice before it refused to turn over.

do you have a good / new battery ??
look at:
1.) all fuse“s !!
2.) switch -- the kickstand !
3.) switch --the clutch lever !
4.) switch -- stopswitch - right side handlebar !
5. look at the minus wire - which is fixed at the engine - near the clutch cover
