So my friend has a R1 that he's getting jetted !
Well I have a friend that has a 2000 R1. We ride together all of the time! I always let him have the jump and then I walk him down and show the 12's dominance! Well I was just at my mechanic's and he said my friend is getting his bike Jetted and a new full exhaust! He said that I "will be lucky to keep up with him". I was wondering if this is true. My mechanic has never seem impressed by the 12.
I know there are many variables here. But I was wondering if jetting his bike gain that much performance on the 12?

Never rode a 2000 model but have a 98 99 03 05 and i say no way!

I do have stock exhaust with a yosh slip on and a PCIII USB.

a pipe makes a huge difference on a 12. get one. 135 in the 1/4 vs 147-8 on my bike. picks up a ton of top end. Muzzys are cheap, and great bang for the buck, not much diff in power with my Hindle, but it has a much nicer idle. I did a few other things with the exhaust swap, so im not sure how much was from the swap, but ive since ran a 150 in the 1/4, a bunch of 149.5s. on pump gas, with no power adders...

Get an Akrapovic or a Brock/Hindle for best idle and smooth throtle response!!!
