2000 ZX12R Barometer
I am the proud owner of a 2000 ZX12R. I was told the FI light is on for the rear Barometer. What effect does this have on the performance of the bike if any?

Your barometric pressure sensor should be bolted towards the upper right rear of your subframe. I would imagine if one was malfunctioning your ECU would be missing a fairly important parameter in calculating how much fuel to add at specific RPMS at specific throttle openings...among other things. Could be worth a couple ponies.

actually it is needed for the speed density that your bike runs off of while driveing around not thrashing. it compairs the one in nthe tail to the one on the intake port to figure your altitude. i am not sure if there is a generic number it shoves in but it is important to run correctly. get one.

I was looking for one before and found out the map sensor is the same sensor they are interchangable. This might help you in you search for a used one.

Thanks Billy. I would hate to get a new one when there is a used market out there.

Lines are good. Need a new rear tire before I get the sensor. Now when I do change it, I should wear gloves to install the new one?
