Interesting post regarding PC3R and Starting Problems..
Here is a post which was made to Easy's site concerning PC3R starting related issues..
This problem has really been a thorn in my side..
If you have had these same problems you might want to read this post..It sounds like a fix might now be available..
I for one am keeping my fingers crossed...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have been one of the unlucky ones with starting issues and the PC3R.
I have made it clear here on the Forum that I was not happy with the issues which were causing my bike to almost lock up when attempting to start the bike with the PC3R attached.. Remove the PC3R and the problem went away.. It didn't take a Rocket Scientist to figure the issues were PC3R related..
Well, Dynojet seems to have found a fix for my bike and the other 12's which were also having this problem..
I was contacted by Dynojet and ask if I would install a new PC3R for the Zx-12.. I agreed and the unit arrived last week..
Upon first inspection it is clear there have been physical changes to the wiring harness.. I am not sure exactly what has been changed, but the harness is almost 25% to 30% thicker than the previous versions..
Well, I removed my old unit and installed the new PC3R wondering if this
might make my 12 start without the starter drag and stall.
After it was back together I tried to start the bike.. Fired right up..
Let it warm up and then went for about a 15 minute ride.. Once I returned home the bike was turned off and let sit for about 3 or 4 minutes..
This is when I always had problems starting the bike.. After It Was Warm .
I tried to start the bike, and there was no hesitation at all.. This was almost too good to be true..
I waited a couple more minutes and tried it again.. same results.. fired right up.. no starting issues at all..
I did this several times during the afternoon and the bottom line is whatever Dynojet has done to the new and improved PC3R it has apparently fixed my starting problem..
The folks at Dynojet are anxiously waiting for me to let them know it this new unit fixes the starting problem.. It looks like there are quite a few customers with PC3R starting related issues...
I will discuss this with the folks at Dynojet tomorrow, but you guys are the first to know that it seems they have found the problem..
So, if you have had these issues with your PC3R contact the folks at Dynojet for this fix...

I am glad I waited to send them my Unit! The Bike has to be "Running" to load the Maps! The newer one do not have that problem! Now they have fixed this also (Hopefully)! I can Kill 2 birds with the same Stone! I really thought it was a Kawasaki Starter problem!

I have 2 units sitting there right now! Im almost Zhooligans "potrait of a Dynojet customer" except I have 4 different units to juggle instead of 3...lol.
We'll see what happens in the next few weeks. My personal one works fine, never had any issues. Heck I even loaded Muzzys standard 2002 map and it works fine!

The funny thing about dynojet and the Power Commanders is that when I was at the Formula USA race in Portland the Dynojet rep that did all of the dyno testing on the bikes told me without so much as a blink, a wink or even a blush that Dynojet has never had a single defective power commander returned to them that didn't have a damaged harness! In other words every single malfunctioning power commander is a result of the consumer damaging the harness!!!!
All I know is that none of my harnesses were damaged, pinched or twisted. I have cradled, suspended, padded you name it to protect the power commander. My wiring has been kink free and I still have numerous failure. Starting problems, unable to communicate with power commander messages, the latest problem dealt with the bike falling on it's face when it hit 7500 rpm and it bucked and snorted to about 9000 rpm. Nothing we did to the mapping changed it. Pulled the Power Commander off the bike ran fine. Put another unit on and ran fine. Put the previous unit on and the problem returned. Hard to argue with that.
Hey Yosh guys, Looking at the site it appears that you need to buy the EMS unit, the hub and the 3 map switch. 3 components at about $795 or so. Is this correct? Do I need to buy all three? You have to wonder about a Certified Dynojet facility Owner that has concluded that the Power Commander is @#$%^&
