What Tires for ZX12
Alright Lads and Ladies..
Just wondering what brand tires you are using...
I assume a lot are running (size) 200/50/17 in the rear...
Living in Dublin Ireland, lots of wet weather so have to take into consideration what tire to go for...
I've been looking at BRIDGESTONE BT-014 SPORT TYRES and BRIDGESTONE BT-021 SPORT TOURING TYRES... anyone rate them or is there something better to go for???
Thanks

I've been riding on the pirellis diablo's for the last several years. Great tires in wet or dry roads. Most recent set were pirellis rosso. I really like them and I can get just over 4000 miles out of the set. stock size front 120/70, 180/55 rear. They also warmup fast too.

Between the you mentioned, if you are a fairly limp wristed rider I'd go for the later. Otherwise go with the grippier compound on a machine this powerful.

for wet weather you will be hard pressed to find a better tire than the Pilot Power ......I am running the BT 016s on my 10 right now and will put a set on the 12 when I get it fixed. I lke the 016 due to the 190/55 series tires..

Shinkos are quite heavy compared to most other tires out there. Great price though.

Keep the Shinkos if you even think about twisting the wrist the are crap..if you think you want to lean a corner...go with the stones or the powers...both will give great traction and decent mileage....nod to the powers in the wet....either can be had for less than 300 a set

Now that there is a much better availability of 190/55 tyres I have now brand new Michelin Pilot Road 2:s in 120/70 and 190/55 waiting to put under my ride. The difference just by looks (I have still one 200/50 Pirelli Diablo just under my new Michelins) compared to the 200 is awesome! The 190 has much more "sharper" profile, even if they are 'sport-touring-tyres'. Should be good in wet too and much more mileage. They're a bit expensive - at least here- but You save the trouble of changing them so often and by the looks they look like a LOT more fun in the twisties. I'll give my impressions in couple of weeks till they get the roads cleaner. Snow has allready almost dissapeared...
