Chain cleaning and tools Go to www.chaparral-racing.com and do a search for "chain cleaner". It is item #: 200-8990-2.
Is it worth the 25 bucks? Or is it better to clean the chain using a brush and WD-40? I heard WD-40 is not good on O-Ring chains? What about just using gas/kerosene?

Don't waste your money Row. Just get a jug of Kerosene and a rag. Cleaning the chain takes all of 5 minutes.

Hi Chris. Yeah I just cancelled my order for that chain cleaner. Got a compression gauge instead of it for the RD. I am concerned about using WD40 - I'll just buy some kerosene.
No warm place to store my 12. I'm probably gonna have to keep it in the living room this time.

yep! kerosene = diesel fuel (for chain cleaning purposes), and watch yer fingers with that rag; pls clean the chain with the engine OFF!! (remember the pix of the guy who cleaned his chain with the rear wheel spinning...ugh!)

*laughs* Hey, I was cleaning my chain and spinning the back tire. Just a pinched nail, but I learned my lesson!
