My ZZR Ok, so it's big...No really, it's BIG. And HEAVY. But for putting some serious miles on, I've never owned a better motorcycle.

So how does it fair to one of our 12's? Compare and contrast please.
I saw one at the dealer. I really think it's a gorgeous bike, I just cant get over the front headlights, they just never did it to me. I like how the styling cues from the turn signals are integrated like in the ZX-6E and the ZX-11, and that seat is sooo much better for a passenger compared to the high perches on the 12. Very nice looking color as well.

i came within an asshair of buying the zzr instead of my 12. i gues the fact that i had never fit on anything close to a sportbike before, plus the fact that ive had a zx11 for the past 7 years made me go for the 12. the zzr seems like a more refined version of the zx11 in my opinion, which is not a knock at all, i loved my 11. the 12 is just a very different beast altogether.

It's much as Jason says, a refined version of the zx11. In comparison to my 12:
1. Riding position - More upright, but still sporting.
2. Wind protection - Just about perfect, just enough wind at 70 to take the weight off your wrists
3. Handling - Steers slower than a 12, way slower. That being said, it's one planted mo-fo. Absolute bullet train stability. Wind gusts don't upset it. Passing trucks don't upset it. Fewking hurricanes and tornados prolly wouldn't upset it.
4. Performance - Lots and lots of bottom end grunt. What kind of grunt? From 30mph, it will pull 6th gear with no problem, any grade of hill that I've been on (Including Denny Grade in Seattle). Those four carbs have that nice zx11 growl, and the bike comes up to speed nicely. Top end wise, it will prolly come close to what a zx11 will do, but you are pushing a lot of air.
5. Comfort - When I bought it, I had my eye on a commutting/sport touring bike. The seat was good, but in typical Kaw fashion, slide the rider up into the tank. I had had enough of that with my 12, so sprang for the Corbin right away. I had ordered the bags before Laguna Seca and now that they are on the bike, I have storage room and won't have to put up with a soft bag on the passener seat (an sometimes halfway up my back).

Sweet Bike..... I have heard nothing but good things about the ZZR. Those bags actually look pretty nice on there.

This morning's ride in was the first ride with the bags. First thing I noticed was that the exhaust note sounded different. At highway speeds, it's barely noticeable, but at city street speeds (say, 40 mph) the note was beautiful. A deep bass note that just kinda rolls along wif ya. ____________

Yeah, I came within an asshair of buying the ZZr as well. The thing that just really threw me off was the heat off of the engine blew right on my knees. Rather uncomfortable in 100 degree Arkansas heat.
But I'm sure that thing is nice in cooler weather!
But otherwise an excellent bike. Plenty of power, torque, rather nice handling (for a big bike).
But a quick run on the 12 and that was that! I decided then that I'd have to date short legged women.

Yah, I wouldn't give up my 12s for anything. But riding one to and from work is like taking a ferrari to KFC. ____________

Hey Gozr,
Yah, the 12's a great bike, and I feel like Superman every time I get on and ride it. But sometimes, even Superman needs to be Clark Kent. That's the ZZR. The Clark Kent of superbikes. Talked to Doug Meyers today, we talked about the ZZR a bit, he had just recently taken one for a test ride while developing their slipons for it.
