Try the Gel. If you're not happy with the Gel sell it and buy the Corbin. I have the Gel - seat is better now compared to stock, but maybe a Corbin would be even better, then again maybe not.

I have a Corbin and I hate it...but I am not a heavy guy and have no extra fat. I hear Corbins work well with heavier folk. If you get one make sure you order it with the softest foam they will put in. I just rode a friends FJ that had a Corbin and his seat was a factor of 3 times softer than mine.

I weigh in at 250 and if that makes a difference OK. Anyhoot I love my Corbin. And hate the stock seat. The corbin sets you back from the tank. For all out road racing the corbin takes some getting used to in regards to sliding your butt off the seat. In my case this took about thirty seconds. Actually I was dragging my knee puck about 15 seconds into the first lap.
As for the density of the foam that is a matter of personal choice. I have ridden a thousand miles in a day three times on a corbin seat and I must say my butt was much happier then the other times I did the same miles on stock seats.
That all said I have no experience with the gel seat. But life has taught me to buy the best the first time so the garage doesn't fill up with the stuff that didn't work.
