PURE Dealer BS! Anyone at ANY Dealer would know if it was a Full system or Slip On and If they REALLY Did not I would not buy from them! A LOT Worse is the FI Light has NOTHING to do with Mapping ever!

YOU Can see if the system is a Full or not by Just looking at the connector Pipe! The stock pipe has a Ridge on Both sides where it is welded together (It is actually a continuation of the 4-"2" part of the system) it is a divider plate!

Last, before you have the Bike ANY Time take it to a Kawasaki Dealer and see what the FI Light is all about because it COULD be a Real Problem! If it is, and you have the bike for under 30 days, in most states there is a Lemon Law or something like that if the Dealer sells you something that is less than it should be! I am sorry that you do not know anything about motorcycles because it can cost money to learn! Good Luck to you and sorry that this is the way you joined this Board because this IS the Place where More Good Information is shared than all of the other sites combined!

I was Writing Quick THESE is the word to add into that sentence. I saw that no one had answered and to me this is serious! The sensor is on the left side of the throttle Bodies and has a rubber tube attached! Go to Ron Ayers dot com and look up the Microfiche and find the part and you will see what you are looking at and then check yours! Get the Service manual it is MORE than difficult with out one.

BTW, they (The Dealer) also is either acting or does not know about These Motorcycles because stock pipes look STOCK and After market pipes ALL look like they were made my the different pipe manufactures no matter what BIKE they are on! That is what makes this hard to understand!

Are you in this country? If not that can explain the dealer! The "Mapping" can be done several ways but usually with a Dynojet Power Comander PC3 or PC3 USB they cost between $300 to $450 Here in the USA

Good Work! See my last post on the Mapping for the part you need to get that done and usally you can find a Map on their web site or the Pipe manufacture web site you can down load! To me the 2000 ZX12 R is the best one they made period!

ok just a misunderstanding no big deal
im in canada and yes our dealers suck ass

as for the exhaust its a yosh can, and the rest is stock.ive never seen a 12 in person before so i dident know what a stock or after market looked like for it. i dont have a power camander so ill have to get one so i can change the map.

you say the sensor is by the throttle body? couse the one i fixed was in the tail mounted to the frame, the previouse owner had put a under tail kit and i figure they must have broke it then couse its pretty close to it.

one more question- what does a stock 12 run in the quarter mile time wise?

depends on the driver. I think mid 9s was pulled off by pros, but any normal guy is hardpressed to run low 10s bone stock.
you sure you arent new to bikes? when i buy something, i actually take time to see what it has, not go by some idiots opinion at a dealership. (have you ever heard of a light coming on for a muffler swap before??)

Not absolutely certain about this but I don't think you need to re-map the injection for a Yosh can (a full system, yes). You should check the Yoshimura website or contact their technical support to find out. No need to spend $200-300 on a Power Commander if it's really not going to do you any good.

With that said, maybe someone else knows if a PCIII would be beneficial for a stock 2000. A PCIIIR would be, it would allow you to adjust the ignition timing.

Congrats on the new ride. U R gonna LUV it.

Believe this, that for Just the can you do not need remapping!

Again too fast the part I referred to is the Air pressure sensor for the Airbox not the atmospheric pressure sensor which also has a little rubber tube on it that sits on the Right side at ttached to the frame in the tail section.

Get a service manual because simple things like the Battery are not easy to get to! Adjusting the Valves is Painful, other than that it is the Most serious of the ZX12R's Kawasaki made!

KZ, Not on a Motorcycle but in the Cars (Which I think the dealer was) yes! The Mini cooper S needed a remapping for the exhaust change and then when I added one glass Pack to quiet it more the light came on because the extra Back pressure made it richer and clogger the Cat! Then someone My wife knows has a corvette and ran it without remapping and the light came on so she took my code reader and reset the light after he remapped it but the cat is shot now and the light stays on!

i uderstand how a more restrictive muffler could cause a problem, but what would happen on your mini cooper if it was bone stock, and then you swapped to a free flowing muffler?
oh, why did the light come on? does it come with an O2 sensor from the factory?
