Need clutch HELP!
Hey guys. I just installed a Muzzy clutch kit and when I put everything back together the bike will not move. The clutch feel feels goos but does not engage. I have never done a clutch in a 12 before. Any help would be appreciated!

the pressure plate only goes in one way, that may be your problem, if its turned, it will bottom out on the basket not the clutch pack
oh, while you have it apart, measure stack height with a caliper. make sure the anti chatter rings are compressed or it could give a false reading (high)

Let me check that pressure plate Scott. It was bottomed out on the basket but I could not figure out why.

hey, you'll never do it again now right  better you did it at home then 5 min before the final round for the big prize
be careful with the muzzy kit, it puts you in the low range for stack height. if you go thru fibers often, you will be below the servise limit in no time. add to the stack height with extra steels, or swapping thin steels for thicker ones to get the full life out of the fibers. all the fibers can be worn just a bit, but still way above their individual servise limit and you can be too low overall. i was over 2mm to low(each fiber was still good), and was eating up pull rods till i added to the stack height at the first of last season. no problems the rest of the yr

the stack height should be 2.24 between 2.27
check the manual

Went to the track today with the Muzzy clutch kit. I would probably get better if I went more often. Had not went since May 16th!
1st and 2nd passes was a 10.20's.
Adjusted clutch to get it where I like it......
10 teens, still with poor 1.75-78 60 fts
Adjusted again because it was engaging too soon (just off the grip)
Then I started running consistaint 9's then with a 9.94 with a 1.61 60 ft then 9.91, 9.92, 9.92 all with 1.61-1.65 60 fts
But now the bracket races started. Ran a nervous 9.98 with a 1.70 60 but the ZX14 I was running redlighted.
2nd round: Dropped clutch at 8 grand, rode thru a 10-12" wheelie to a 9.84 at 141.10 with a 1.59 60 ft!!!! But I was dialed at 9.90 lol
Just a note. I realized that when I changed my oil the night before at 11 pm that I over filled it to the top of the sight plug! That prob cost me a little MPH! Still not bad for foot shifting!

Dragging the clutch and fighting the wheelies is slowing your ETs down...Try a little less rpm and get in the throttle faster...

i think 16 44 is the popular combo to put you as long as possible on the stock chain and still have ok gearing. were you running that setup before the 3 inch arm, and then just keep that gearing?

ok guys need help cause i am lost.
got a new muzzy clutch kit in. Problem is
went on a 2 mile ride
the clutch lever goes dead
I open the clutch up and the clutch shit arm rod is getting ate up.
the rod in the center of the clutch is ok but its eating the arm up.
What is going on I am lost and already bought 2 and dont want to keep buying them

Get a new puller and put this set up in it :

The problem is the Muzzy clutch springs, they are too stiff...But you cant put softer springs in with the Muzzy set up because all it will do is slip as the stack height is too short...

NOX. So are you saying that the inner hub should be stock too or do you like the Muzzy one for more oil??
So far it feels good now that I have it adjusted. Feel is a little stiffer but not bad. Rode over 130 miles Sunday thru the country and I have no problems. I bought the kit over a year ago and waited this long to put it in because of people saying it sucks. Just makes me think that I wasted $$$$ 
I bought this kit because when my bike was dynoed Ryan Schnitz personally told me that this is the kit that works best in the 12 for him.

correct the low stack height and you will be fine with the muzzy kit. just add extra steels to bring it into spec. do a search, its a very common topic.
Dak, i believe the 02 and up hub has the holes like the muzzy hub. you can flat side the puller to get the oil to the hub if you dont have the muzzy sleeve or hub. i did that to dads 00. copied the holes in the hub, and did the flat side mod to the rod. it oils it just like the muzzy kit in my 01.
Nox, not everone is a pro, or has a lock up with your special tune. some of those guys need the thicker steels so they dont warp them(i would think).

No, the muzzy hub is okay, its basically based after the 2002 hub from what I hear.
My thing is this, a stock clutch pack, is already in spec, less to mess with. I ran one for years before I knew much about clutches.......
I see more trouble out of the muzzy set up than any other. Maybe its the customer service, I don't know.
