Dyno stuff

Entropy, I'm on vacation this week in Maine. Sorry I couldnt get back to you about the dyno runs before we left.
I didnt forget you, I just dont have access to my email from here. All I have is a 56k AOL connection under someone elses account.
Went striped bass fishing in a one man blowup raft yesterday floating down a salt water marsh river, and hooked a 37 inch striper. It was pulling me around for 15 minutes before he got tired out enough for me to start thinking of cranking him in. Its not easy pulling in a striper in a rubber raft with a cooler, a bag of eels, pole, net all in there with ya. But I managed to get it in the damn boat while keeping his teath away from the raft so me and the whole shooting match didnt go to the bottom of the drink.
The bitch of the whole thing was that I had to let it go.
IT WAS TOO BIG!!! the slot this year is 20"-26" or anything over 40"!
Gonna try again later this week.

Actually Freek, its on the ocean in Maine. A salt water tidal river about a mile in. I've pulled in 40 plus pound stripers that were 50+ inches long in the past. Of course that was when I was cheating and using a real boat. But shit, anyone can do that! Right?

This is the first year in several years I didnt ride the bike up.
I'm missing it now. This will be over a week without riding a bike. I need a fix. Anyone got one nearby for me?
Anyway, gonna go out Lobstering in the am for about 4 hours... havent gone in a few years. My neighbor is pesterng me to go on his new boat. I used to fix his old one for him quite often. He is moving up in the world. He had a 8-92 Detroit and now has a Caterpiller engine. It just wont be the same not having to hang upside down in the builge hatchway by my knees with diesel fuel, sea water and old rags and nasty smelling rotten bait, sloshing around, trying to blead injector lines while he runs her full bore across the bay with earplugs in.
When people ask me if i get sea sick on cruise ships I just smile and say "No, I dont get sea sick".
But I gotta admit I've gotten little green at times from the heat and noise of doing that shit.
Anyway, It is fun pulling traps for a few hours. After that it gets old real quick. But it really makes you enjoy eating those bottom feeders.
Well, time for another margaritta... cheers.

goddamn, Y2K, forget this pulling traps stuff, I bought a 19.5# lobster at my "secret" dealer in Boston last year and have a $100 buck reward to them for a bigger one in early Sept.

Thats a huge lobsah. Here you use a guage to measure from the back of the body shell to the eye socket and it has to fall in a range to keep it. The fines are huge if caught cheating and possable ban from lobstering. Its what these guys do for a living so they cant risk it. Not that I havent gone diving and "found" a big lobstah or two swimming into my dive sack. They just didnt want to come out when i called them. Oh well.

Theres only 12 winter residents in this little village of popham in the winter.
So its not likely to be cought. But its still risky.

What a small world Y2K. I used to stay at Spinny's on Popham Beach. The perfect place to relax as there is little going on. The Fort is cool and so is the water! Have fun!

Wow, someone who actually has heard of Popham Beach!! LOL

Well I own the 2nd cottage on the left as you round the corner into Popham.
Its right on the bay side. The front deck hangs out over the water and the view is the fort and bay. Actually I just came in from digging some steamer clams for dinner. It is very relaxing. The Kennebeck river water is bone chilling cold as is the ocean here but the Moris river by the state park is warm for swimming.
