Where is the best place to tie into the harness for this?

Not hard at all.

From the smaller connector on the left side of the junction box, find the blue wire with yellow stripe. You can tap into this wire anywhere between the junction box and the left handlebar switch.

This wire only carries a small current to activate the headlight relays, so any switch will work.

methinks you'll need a relay.

Its very small current, it takes only a few to tens of milliamps to trip a relay. Put a good 1amp switch inline and you will be fine..

The bike already has two of them (one for high beam, one for low)! This is the wire that activates the relays.

The head lights need a ground to operate, just run a switch on the ground side of the circuit, the head lights already have a relay. Thats how I ran my switch on my 03 zx12r. I got a schematic and ran with it.

Just wanted to let you guys know this works like a champ. Cut the blue wire with yellow stripe coming out of the left side of the fuse panel. Add on/off switch with no relay and it works great! Thanks!
