Texas Mile March 08
Texas Mile, real cool weekend, quite a few 12's, and some big names showed up.
JohnnyCheese, Dave Owen, Scott Gunthrie, Terry Kizer
Best part of the weekend was TFA and Saturday dinner, Goliad Tex-Mex.
About 8-10 ZX-12s showed up to run.

MadMike and Matt were right there in the thick of it as well! With upper 190's
Lots of tire carnage!!!!!!!!! including Matt’s
Lots of motor carnage --- at least 10 motors I heard of including a Turbo 12 that dropped a
few tranny gears and a 1317 big block that poped a head gasket. A few big turbos had motor meltdowns.
Pretty Nasty Head winds as well.
It felt like at least 50-60 bikes showed to run
Hats off to a green turbo Busa guy that road at least 5-6 hours ran his bike for the first time
at 207mph and road it back home 5-6 hours. Karl had to adopt him as an honorary TFA
member after talking to him.

Karl and I are now Brothers in several ways! Has the same freinds when we were Younger and now missing 200 MPH by "Tenths of an MPH"! The only difference is I was ON my bike at the time (Jab Jab)

It could be worse.... you could have hit a legit 200+mph and gone home with a 199mph ticket. Look what happend to me at Maxton.
Hit the rev limiter in 6th at 200-201mph about 1.5 seconds before the traps. Bike nosed over and trapped at 198.7mph. You're supposed to be accelerating through the traps, I was decelerating. =(
I didn't feel too bad since my buddy Sal did the same thing on his Busa.... Only he hit 220mph on the rev limiter and slowed down to 218+mph going through the lights.
Both bikes N/A... thank God! I'd hate to be on the Nitrous and riding the limiter through the traps.
