what kill box is best?

I posted this in the dragbike section too. but i dont see DM over there too often...

Im going to make a couple airshifters for 2 12Rs, and im wondering what kill box to use. dads bike will be running NA most of the time(might put a small dry shot on it for a couple weekends later in the year) and my bike will have a pretty good shot of dry nitrous.
I was looking at a few kill boxes and i noticed that only the Muzzys digi-kill has a delay, and it cuts fuel. the rest cut spark and i dont think they had any delay.
Can anyone explain the pros/cons of the fuel kill vs spark kill, and also the delay?
thx!

I run the Cycle-Tek kill box ... made primarily for the Busa & 1000s I believe, Todd aka narider told me how well they worked. I got it, no regrets. I set the kill time in the middle, can shift on spray w/out letting off the spray button, no hiccups, backfires, etc. Set-up isn't as easy because it isn't "made" for the 12, but it isn't hard. I can send you some pics & measurements if you like.

What PC do you have.
If you have the USB then you can use it to kill fuel.
Difference in killing fuel and killing spark is that cyclinder
fills with fuel when you kill spark and you get that big BooM
when it comes back. This is not good for the valve train.
Delay is used to time the pull on the shifter with the engine kill
because the electrical side kill can respond much faster than the
air pressure can move the level. When you delay the kill to match the pull it allows shorter kill times ,but we are only talking milli seconds.
I don't know which is best they all work when set up right.
Muzzy is not the only one with a delay. call ryan schnitzs for options.

But if you only use like 50 ms of kill, its no big deal...., if you have a tranny that will shift that way........

With the slicks, you should be able to run .50, even in the summer........

on a bad track, go back up to .60.

what about the no bar bike Nox? (my bike will be about 67-67.5 inches running a shinko)

can anyone comment on if more kill time is required for more nitrous than a 40 shot? i might try 75 or so.....

Dale Walker's Holeshot kill box has got the be the simplest. It kills the hot side of the coils (1 wire to splice into!) and works great with air shifters and nitrous, for me anyways. I've never heard one pop either.

that will depend on your track, when cool, with a shinko, i can run .50, but when real hot and nasty, i have to run .60

its usually pretty cool up here, a really really hot day is about 35C (95F)

now heres something interesting:
The shift solenoid offset time is a great way to ensure proper shifting especially for applications where the air line from the solenoid to the shifter ram is longer than 16". This allows you to activate the solenoid before the power interrupt begins.
no wonder everyone says to put it right on the ram. waay less delay needed, if any at all???

KZ, here are some pics. The bike was left in the rain for a few minutes before I could pull it in in time, so its ain't pretty but:

Kill box in the tail section

Air shifter CO2 bottle in the rear next to the 2.5 lb nos bottle:

Following the lines down the left side of the bike:

Air shifter:

Arm switch (smaller one of the 2 closer to the rear of the bike, other is nos):

Not too many loose wires or anything once its all zip tied up and the bodywork is on, been working on the bike so its kinda loosy goosy now.
