build a 2x4 frame to bolt the motor too, use plywood for the outside of the box. its probly expensive, those suckers are heavy....got an idea, go on ebay and search for a "car kit" in the bike parts section, ask all the sellers what the shipping price will be....

Drain everything, remove injector rack, secure all the wires etc. with zips. Put it on a wooden pallet with the plugged inlet ports facing DOWN (sump up). Band it down tight with STEEL banding padded by folded cradboard. Make sure NOTHING will leak out. A puddle can trigger a hazerous waste event and sidetrak the whole deal into never never land.
Piece of cake. Done it 10 times.

Not sure how mine will show up to me tomorrow or Mon, but I think lubricity wrapped it in plastic wrap to boot.........., If you can ship from business to business, it is way cheaper. Cost me 180 in shipping from PA, to AR.

He is sending it with Old Dominion www.odfl.com
My local cycle shop and sponsor here in Conway, AR, Conway Cycle Shop, is letting me have it shipped there, so it worked out well, and they are going to do a leakdown/compression test on it for me when I pick it up......

I used FedEx Freight. They were the cheapest I could find. I saved money by dropping it off and having it picked up at their terminal. That saved some money on the shipping costs. I drained the oil and put the engine on a pallet that I got from Lowes for free. I used an eye bolt in each corner of the pallet and attached 1/8" metal wire to it. Made it across the country with no problems.
This will get you a list of terminals http://www.fedexfreight.fedex.com/locations.jsp so you know where you can drop it off and get it picked up. I think I called customer service for the quote.
