headlight question?

i am in the middle of installing a set of HIDs,, i have one in and i wanted to see how it looked versus the stock one (as far as brightness),, i notices that when i put on the high beams the HID comes on,, and this is a Hi/Lo setup meaning that it has a Xenon Lo beam and a Halogen Highbeam,, why would the Xenon come on on the highbeam side? also once in a while when i am toggling the light switch,, i will get nothing meaning no bulbs lighting on lobeam but when turned to hi they light,, i really dont use lo beams at all so this actually works for me,, but i was wondering what was going on,, anyone??

You have the wires wrong - probably...

HIDs finished on the the install,,, they look awesome!, they are the 12000K variety
almost a blue/purple light,, match the illumiglo gauges nicely,, had a little problem finding a place to hide the ballasts (the larger variety not slim),, but after all was said and done,, i hid them one each on top of the intake tubes and the ram air cover fits on top no problem,, the wiring turned out being perfect in lenght mounting it that way,, velcroed them and wire tied them also,, not going anywhere!,, makes the bike look very nice at night! cant wait for the riding weather to get here...
