You have to be real careful / Quick, and wear rubber gloves, but the Purple Super Clean and a Brush then Hose off immediately because it will start to take the Oil out of the tires! This is the same thing they use for cleaning Cooking Grills

I bet the cleaner you refer to is sodium hydroxide based .
It is an excellent cleaner........but as Mr Hill says.......Be very cautious!
It is used in its concentrated form in a process called chem milling to remove
aluminium, It also removes iron oxide well.....which is primarily what brake dust is I think.

Simple Green!!!...Hose the bike down, spray it on the rims, calipers, forks, motor, swingarm, chain, shock, kickstand, sprocket, use a sponge on the stubborn brake dust and grease / chain lube then hose off...Wait till you see how clean!!!

Best part is that its not corrosive

Nothing will get them like new, the paint fades over time...If they are clean then you cant ask for anything better and people notice when it's clean!!!

It's not paint or at least it wasn't on my A model... When I powder coated them after I split them and removed the rubber parts I soaked them in thinner and they were clean as new.. If they had been painted it would have peeled off..

Don't use Super Clean !!! If you have gold rotor centers and get it on there it will corrode in quick order. I did that to my 10R and had to refinish the centers, Worse of all I knew better.

Simple Green is really good, but is also corrosive to bare aluminum when not diluted, so be careful.

There is also Meguiar's Wheel cleaner for "Painted" Wheels in that same section that is Green in Color that really does a good job and does not hurt the wheels. Use a Stiff Parts Brush after you spray it on and spray the Brush. The Second you are finished hose off for a long time

That is what got my stuff clean!

I actually take the time to Remove the Calipers and 1 at a time I clean and hose them off! That Purple stuff is "Supposed" to be mixed, but you know we use it straight!
