new swingarm issue???

OK i got the tools to remove the pivot shaft cap etc.. my 2000 A1 does not have a lock ring on the brake side and does not have a NUT on the shifter side,, the 14mm caps ARE the nut and lock ring!,, is that the case with all 2000s,, and if so,, am i gonna run into a problem when i try and install the newer model swingarm? everything is cracked loose and the radiator and pipe are removed,, but i dont want to take the swingarm off untill i find out a little more,, is this new arm gonna work? someone said that it will but i would have to leave out a spacer or something like that?? HELP

If you have the OEM swingarm socket to remove the the ring, nut and all invoved...The newer arm is the same except for the lowering links!!!...You need the lowering links or OEM links from the same year swingarm that your re-installing !!!...That's it...Your all ready now!!!

Crotch Rocket,, the swingarm on the 2000 doesnt have the ring setup,, the new arm (which i just found out from the guy i got it from) is off an 05,, the new 05 has the links attached so i am good there,, my concern is the pivot shaft assembly..
the 2000 is held together by the 14mm caps on both sides THATS IT! no nut,,no castle ring,,
the 2005 arm that i have has a 30mm nut on the shifter side that is coverered by a 14mm cap,, and on the other side the castle ring or whatever its called goes on under another 14mm cap,, do i use the 2000 assembly or the 2005?
and if i use the 2005 is there room for the cap on the shifter side to go over the nut?
if you say it will work,, i am gonna tackle it in the morning.. hope it works?
oh yea one more thing,, wear is the best place to take it apart from the shock?
thanx Vic

I dont know what Kawasaki changed on the swingarm axle with the '04-05.....You have to lift the tank to unbolt the top of the shock!!!

good luck, im guessing that the arm will slide in just fine with the "old" stuff. you arent taking the shock out are you? im thinking just unbolt the bottom and the swingarm should come down and out....
oh found this. might be interesting
