I met my match!!!!!!!!!!! :(
I have a question, has anyone heard of a 1640 kit for a busa?
OK..now to my story
Met up with about 50 other sport bikes including R1's,GXR-1000's, Busa's and my 12 (and a bunch of little guys
We took off on our ride and along the way I rolled up on a bad ass looking Busa that just didn't sound too stock On our final ride back to the cities I notice no one will race the guy, I pull up next to him and figure what the hell! He cracks the throttle (saying let's play) so I drop it to 2nd and be both take off. I couldn't believe it.....when we hit 150ish (started around 60) he was about 4 bike lengths ahead of me.....I just couldn't believe it....never been beaten so bad since owning my 12. So I tried again......same thing.....and again........same thing
I finally smiled, gave him a thumbs up and pulled a wheelie (let's see him do that with that extended swing arm :P).
After we all stopped he was no where to be found but everyone asked how I did against him and I told my story while they all chuckled......came to find out he has all kinds of goodies on the bike and they all knew it(some of which he wouldn't tell) including a 1640 overbore (can you bore a Busa that big or where they full of it?) Either way the next time I see a bad ass sounding busa with non-stock body work with sponsor stickers, racing numbers, drag pipes, and an extended swing arm......I'll have to find a longer road to race on! LOL
Oh well.....didn't bother me as much as I thought it would, always someone bigger and better around......law of the land I guess!
I hope to see this Busa again so I can BS with the guy, never hurts to have friends that like to build motors up!

what have you done to yr bike???
If you are running a stock motor with just pipe, etc, a stretched Busa with garden variety 1397 pistons and web cams will put 3 bike lengths (easily) on you.

350 dollar nitrous kit will fix that problem...and readily embarass him
There were bikes around that would pull alot more than that one me up top...that just absolutely get destroyed now on spray.

250 +100 = badasse
The only thing that busa needs is a 100hp shot of NOS.

Entropy,
Yep...I have a stock motor, muzzy pipe, and PCIIIR...that's basically it. Dyno'd last year @ 172 HP.
In reply to the NOS, that does give me one more reason to get the NOS that I wanted anyway......I just wish I was up to the challenge of installing the NOS kit myself. If I could find someone around my area to help me through it, I would already have it installed! Soon....soon...soon....I keep telling myself that!

Big...it really is cake man...even those not so mechanically inclined can accomplish it.
The most difficult part was tapping the airbox and splicing the horn ground (only because it was a pain to figure out which wire was the ground)

Hey "Your Car",
What Nos system did you go with? I know I have seen a few, are they all about the same in price and product or no?? I noticed the one on the Muzzy site was like $1200.00 and didn't include the "progressive NOS"(or some term like that), I thought I saw a NOS system for around $300. Am I getting a better setup with the Muzzy? If not, where is the extra $$ coming from. Thanks in advance for your or anyone elses input!

All those other kits are 'dry' systems. That means that they just add nitrous. The muzzy kit is a 'wet' system, adds fuel as well as nitrous, which means that you can go with a bigger shot and not lean things out dangerously. A 70 hp shot would be pretty incredible...I don't know if I would ever go with the 100hp shot/progressive controller setup on the street. Can't ever imagine where I'd need it, this not being the movies (Fast 'n Furious, etc...). But for the strip, that'd be just fucking awesome.

I have the Schnitz kit...as it included everything you needed (Including the drill tap and Zipties). Kings Nitrous kit is for a single or dual stage and is of the same quality...hell I think he even posts a parts list so you can order everything on your own cheaper if you like.
Both of those kits are indeed dry..so you will need to richen up your fuel map with a PC3 to make sure you dont roach rings/hole pistons/etc
It is very very straightforward...although the kits dont come with instructions save a wiring diagram...the only complex part is tapping the airbox...mounting the solenoid (I actually used zipties for this) and finding a way to fit your bottle under your seat (I had to carve out some of the plastic and padding from my stock seat for this).
Muzzys kit is the shit...if money wasnt an object...Id have it right now...but you pay the price for that You can certainly achieve higher gains with their setup...but for someone who races on the streets and occasionally at the track...350 bucks for 50hp cannot be beat by ANY other mod.
I have a buddy with a stretched busa and a dual stage nitrous setup that only makes 207hp....now he does indeed run 6.30s at the track from time to time....but Ill eat him alive on the interstate

Thanks for the great info! I have a questions though, I heard you should get rid of any timing advancement on your PCIIIR but I didn't hear about changing the fuel curves. I know you would need more fuel added but I thought the computer already adjusts for it because of where you tap the NOS lines into. Am I way off base? If I am, did you get a map made special or get one from someone else with NOS off a 12R site and tweak it to match your bike? Thanks!

Well...even the instructions point out you need to richen the fuel delivery using the faceplate buttons on the PC3/PC3R just to be safe.
Im currently using the Middle jet (34#) and with my dyno run...I was a tad lean in some areas even with adding 25% more fuel via the map.
If you use the smallest jet..you probably wont have any issues. You are indeed correct about the airbox temp sensor adjusting some fuel due to the nitrous being colder. However better safe than sorry....its much more dangerous to be lean than to be rich when playing with Nitrous.

YCIS, looking at the site, the jet sizes are 18, 20, and 22. Your using a schnitz kit. What jets came with your kit. http://www.schnitzracing.com/manuals/DRY-3008-2.PDF page 2.
Is there a hp chart for the each jet size in the dry system?

Very good point indeed! The CYA factor is a good one!
I would be vey happy with a 30 HP increase (no idea what size nozzle that would be but I am guessing it would be a smaller one)but as with everything.......I usually want more with time! :P I like the reliability factor of my bike too much do over do it though.....I think 200+ HP would be my limit! Thanks again for all the great info!

Jet sizes that came with mine were 20/34/42
The 20 was nice...but the 34 is NIIIIICE
34 jet gained 51hp and 32tq
