I GO BOOM....

To all my 'family members' here:THANKS!!! for the concern and support in trying to get me back on the road post crash...YOU'RE THE GREATEST!!!...I'm OK, just a little sore and poorer ...I bought some new parts and rode a couple of days with Dino and ddpete3 in the twisties after Laguna, and later to Ocenaside...thanks again redelk, tremor, frEEk, EBD, muzbegreen, et al...

First things first: I want to publicly thank Dino and Ann for the ALL of the hospitality and support they gave me, pre and post crash, fish_antlers for lifting my bike off from me, princesskiwi for helping the weak-ass fish lift my bike off from me (and for the the menstrual pills....don't ask), Jato12R for the shit-covered flashlight (don't ask), Mike and Larry for putting up with me after my lowside, and last but not least ddpete3 for the painful massage (don't ask) and bailing me out of my lost credit card...

Second: PLEASE WEAR YOUR GEAR!!!...full leathers, boots, gloves, and DOT helmet if you can stand it...it was a 'slow-speed', weird low-side that came outta' nowhere...I wasn't even goofing around (I tend not to on unfamiliar roads)...it was a downhill decreasing radius turn similar to the ones I've done countless of times up on Palomar...leaned over, heavy counter-steer, on the left toe-slider, then...BAM!!! I'm pinned under the left side of my bike on the 'run-off' portion of the road facing the direction I just came from...what the hell just happened????...I lucked out with a bruised left side of my head, left knee/shin, left wrist, and an 'uncomfortable feeling' around the rib area on the left side...without the gear, it could've been worse...

Third: Have fun, but always treat your bike and the road with the utmost respect...I do know that I approached the turn with something similar to a ho-hum I've-done-this-before attitude...BIG FREEKIN' MISTAKE!!!DON'T DO IT!!!...too many variables on the public roadways...you guys and gals already know this, but it bears repeating...lookit wha' happened to slow-poke conservative ol' me

Fourth but not least: Other members have been hurt far worse than I managed...I got off lucky (bad pun)...please send quick healing thoughts and best wishes to them with me...

be safe...ride safe!!!

We're just glad you are still with us. Crashing sucks bad, but at least you were smart enough to wear gear! Bike can be fixed pretty easy, body takes a while. Be careful and hope this is the last time.

Being with the right people can help take the sting out of it also. Sound's like you had some good people around you.

What I learned at Laguna this year....
The Ice Cream song!!!
for full effect, you must hop side to side with feet together, head bobbing to and fro, eddie murphy shit eatin' grin and sing, "..I got some iiiice cream, I got some iiiice cream, you hab no iiiice cream, I got some iiiiice cream...." BUT don't drop that ice cream!!!!

Thanks Worm-Hole!

Dino...
ILW84U?

It should be more like....
I will pass you turn around, ride back and pass you again.

But that would be too many letters...

Hey Dean thanks for the support vehicle. And to your family for letting us spend the night at your house.
It was good to see them again.

Not exactly the trip we planned, but as Helimot told us last year, it's all the things that go wrong that make a trip interresting.
I am glad you did all the work in being so organized... cause when the Unexpected happed, then you are ready.

22348bCVC, going down was totally unepected.

But all ended well and the beer was cold!

Hey I've been thinking of you! It's been forever since we rode and you promised me we would ride when you got back from L.S. . Just kidding man, hope your feeling better every day and you can put this all behind you!
Was thinking of you today when I rode Palomar, hoping I never have to try out the durability of my Jacket. By the way how about a "field report" on the Fieldsheer leather.
Let me know when your up for a ride! Or just stop by the house, don't worry my Great Dane won't bite you!
