My Laguna trip (kinda)

I Just got back from riding with Dino, Fish, & 22348.

On July 5, 22348 and I started our trip by driving to Dino's house. We had one stop over in Santa Cruz where we slept at my sister-in-law's house on the way to Dino's.

We met Fish at Dino's and then all rode into northern California.

We played in the twisties as we worked our way southwest. We camped in the middle of nowhere, about 70 miles from "Happy Camp" Ca.

The next day, 22348 dumped his bike near Bridgeville, Ca. He was on a sweet 10 MPH, 180-degree, downhill corner. We were spread out and none of us were in visual of 22348 when he low sided. We were all riding in the hot weather (about 100 degrees) and were somewhat exhausted.

As you probably have already heard, 22348 is all right. He is just a little sore. The left side of his bike raked the asphalt and slid for about 50 feet. If he only had been wearing a t-shirt and shorts, it would have been ugly. We're still not sure how it happened. Thanks to Dino, the support vehicle was there to pick up his bike.

The evening of July 9 we camped in the Redwood State Park off of the 101.

I woke up and rocketed back to San Diego. It took me 14+ hours. My longest break was 20 minutes to scarf some McDonalds near San Jose. Los Angeles traffic didn't help much. I got home at 9pm.

I couldn't make the Laguna races, but at least I got some riding time in....2500 miles worth! Hope to make it next year.

Thanks to Fish, Dino, and 22348. Especially Dino. He provided food, lodging and a support vehicle. Thanks again, I had a lot of fun!!!!

Jason.

i'm not surprised in the least that u had a good time. a great group of guys and some INCREDIBLE roads! dino is definitely the generous host, even when ur not at his house! damn nice to have a support vehicle instead of carrying everything on the bikes like last year. hope ta meet u on the ride next year.
