Timing Advance research to be done..
Iv'e been reading many posts about too much or too little timing advance.. Talking to Brock Davidson, Mark Salvisburg, and Y2K timing advance does help in throttle response and horsepower.
I will start doing some numeric results to see..

Of course it "helps". Correct ignition timing is essential to efficient combustion. There is nothing to be "researched" here, only "determined". Any engine combination needs to have an optimum timing curve developed for it. Some, but not all, factors that effect what an optimum amount of advance or retard may be for a given throttle/rpm data point are:
Bore
Stroke
Rod length
Compression ratio
Cam timing
Cam LSA
VE
Engine temp
Fuel type and octane
Ambient air conditions
Knock yourself out.

I thought the Shape of the Piston Dome / Combustion Chamber / Squish Band also had something to do it!
