Jim, would you know someone who does a good job sizing rods?

Wow, no replacement for displacement..........
I wish I could run that hard on motor.............
I would like to put a 1317 in mine, and forget the stroking............., as an all track bike, i dont think it would have any trouble living, cause it would not overheat, and would pull me just fine..........lol
I want to ride Karl's Monster..............., thats impressive with him on it if he is as big as he says.

So you are saying given the same 60' and 330' a stroker should last as long as a stock crank ?

Karl, as a matter of fact Were doing a set of Falicon rods today for Aliveagain. what was the weight of those Carillos? I didnt write it down. These seem a tad lighter.
Pete, your crank polished up nice, looks to be saveable.
Ryan, got the head today. Very interesting. I'll digitize it as soon as i get a chance.
Did you notice the intake port divider? And the length of the throat cut? Just from eyeballing it it looks to be about .025" larger on the intake port for volume at the boots.
Interesting.
I'll get it on the flow bench and do some velocity tests next week.
I gotta flow carls head anyway so I'll be all set up for it.

Good advice Y2KZX12R. We'll look at that next time with the rods as well. I think monkey (our mechanic) does it the way you suggest. Would you like to see our head flow charts???
ninja12 - yes, it should last as long as a standard crank to us. Although, the more power you put in, the more maintenace you can expect to have to do. That's our experience.

hell ya, Jim, share the results you get on my big valve head. Maybe more folks will come fwd and show their results, this can turn into a really cool discussion.
(i guess Shane's thread is now thoroughly hijacked, eh? )

No, cause it will pull harder down track as well..........
The stroker needs a good oil supply, just as any bike that pulls a ton of gs...........
Same reason a quick drag car needs a baffled pan, if you just drive it around on the street, no probs, hit 1.20 60 ft a few times, and you have a toasted big block...........
I am not saying this is the only reason, but a large contributor ............
Any reason that bad mo fo that Jim Carroll used to ride of Coby Adams, that ran 7s, on motor on a slick with bars , had a dry sump system.................
hmmmmm

Glad the head made it there in one piece. Not that you would be able to tell if they just flew over your house and dropped it out of the plane. lol.
Been a while since I have really taken a good look at that head. I do remember the intake port divider but not much else about it. Be sure and post up the numbers.

Check out the clutch cover..........., bearing support?
I would like to know what motor that bike had in it, and how often it was freshened up...........
that thing ran some 7.90s on motor at like 170.

cool!!
Now Jim has 2 heads to compare & contrast, with results coming this week. No matter what numbers come out of this we can all learn something.
What I am after is flow numbers which should directionally assist cam selection and CL starting point.
Go-JIM-go!!!
