check out my avatar
oversized 320mm braketech axis rotors, ductile iron... would not fit on your bike because they are larger than stock- you would need aftermarket calipers and adapter bracket.. check and see if you can get them in stock size... 298mm i think? otherwise, im sure the galfer waves would make you happy.

For what it's worth to you, here's a list of bikes that have interchangeable front discs (320 mm diameter). And yes, your 2001 ZX-12R have 320 mm units.
ZX-7R (1991~2003)
ZX-9R (1994~1997, 2002~2003)
ZX-11D (1993 to 2001)
ZX-12R (2000~2003)
ZZ-R1200 (all years)
Vulcan 1500 Mean Streak (2001~2002)
Vulcan 1600 Mean Streak (2003~2005)

thanks for the feedback guys.... im am a regular joe i guess... but when i get on the backroads i ride aggressively.... i tend to ignore the rear brake alot.... ive owned this bike for 7k miles and the front rotors are smoked...and i ve been thru 2 sets of pads already... so i guess i need to upgrade....
i looking for part number listings on sites , then i remember claude had left me an interchangability table...so i check it out go back to the auction and its over!! oh well guess thats how it goes sometimes...

i wonder why kawi decreased rotor size from 320mm to 298mm? doesnt make sense- been thinking about it... they changed caliper design in 04/05? i know 05 was different, dont know about 04.

i know that the newer models use radials, but how would less surface area really aide in braking?

Couldn't resist. I've got the zx12r logo rear wave from schnitz, now these. Can't wait to get em mounted. Thanks for the tip!
quote:Yes, A models use 320mm fron' rear ABM's for my 12 a couple of weeks ago. Should be here any day.
Just beware there is an estimated 2.5-3 week turnaround on the ABM's from Kneedraggers.
I got a kickback email from them saying it was a custom order type deal. I emailed them back and said "3 weeks is fine, 3 months is not". He assured me I would have my rotors in about 3 weeks and Kneedraggers has generally been pretty good to me.
I've already got so much money in my A1 that I'll never sell it so I said WTF is another $800 at this point. LOL

Me too.... BTW, I got the same email. They wanted 1/2 down to place the order. Still think it's a great deal.

Yep, I let them charge 1/2 to my credit card being how it's a special order part(s).
I've got no problem with that as I am sure they don't want any impulse buyers backing out at the last minute and somebody (them) getting stuck with damn near $1k in rotors sitting on a shelf for God knows how long.
Did you order them?

Yes, they told me they had one rotor in stock, but had to back order the other one?
I'm always looking for ways to make her quicker and better. Probably have the injectors cleaned this winter, and maybe a custom paint job..

Kneedraggers emailed me yesterday to inform me that my rotors will ship in a week and 1/2. I've already waited nearly a month. Have you received yours yet?

Well MB, seems there was some miscommunication between ABM and Kneedraggers.
When I ordered them and got the back order email, I specifically replied that 3 weeks was fine, 6 weeks was not.
On the 11th, I emailed back the tech I ordered them from and said "Hey dude, where are my rotors?".
Of course at this point winter is here in Denver and my goal of having the bike back together before the snow flies is shot to shit.
He was very open and honest with me and basically said the supplier told them 3 weeks but upon his requery they said "No, we said X weeks". X being a number >=6.
He said regardless they (Kneedraggers) are going to take responsibility.
I told him if they discount my order and pay for shipping it would set things right.
I'm not overly upset about it because they have been honest and willing to discount the order and I won't be doing much riding until next spring anyhow at this point.
I would expect you are are going to encounter a similar delay. Ken in customer support told me we were looking at about 3 weeks from the 11th so am expecting them around the first week of November. All done and said if I get them at that date it will have been 2 months.
In general I have been very happy with them so I won't make a major shitstorm about it.
Sometimes these things happen.
