KISS (I will be going to Maxton and Go Fast Finally!)

We all know that I had some kind of problem for over a year with I NOS! Well today I resolved it 100%.

I was up to Very large NOS Jets (#42) and still no power!. A #42 should make about 300HP. I did some serious flow testing and found that no matter what I did I could not flow more than .5 to .6 Pounds of NOS in 10 seconds. It takes .8 pounds to make 100 HP so I needed at least 1.2 pounds at the Pressure I want to use. I know the last SOlenoid was Junk and leaked but it was not the entire problem. So I hooked up the line to the Solenoids and nothing on the other side and still no more than .5 to .6 pounds of NOS.

I called NX again and Mike SUggested that I get a 1/4 Ball Valve to see if the Solenoids were the problem. He even stated that if it was, that he would send me the latest for free. He said that "Everyone" there knew me by name by now and all wanted to help me!.

WHile having my 2 10 Pound Bottles filled I did the testing with a 5 pound bottle. I had everything hooked up and only .5 pounds with no restriction going through #39 Jets. I then decided to bypass the line but did not have the Adapters so I used another line 2 feet long.

I almost lost control of the set up! It flowed "2 Pounds" in 10 seconds SOn of a Gun, the 3 foot AN-4 line was bad and getting worse the entire time. I hope everyone can learn something here! Keep an eye on your NOS Lines when you have a flow problem!

Now to slow the flow down I am not going to try to use a 250 SHOT (Yet)

Keep It Simple Stupid

I'll se ya there vincent. I'm going to try to get as many qualifying passes as i can on my zx-12. I'm hoping to go over 175 to get my "B" license. When are you getting there? Do they allow you to camp there?

Some AN lines deteriorate on the inside,on cars you are supposed to use a special AN line for transmission cooler lines to avoid a restriction problem like the one you had Vince, hopefully it will be all sorted by the time you get there.Good Luck!

Bad line, that's rough! Can't wait to hear you ran strong Mr. Hill. Keep us up to date, is your son going with you this time? Hope the weather holds and the track is smooth with no cones in your way. If everything goes well you might be the fastest 12 out there!

Good luck, Vincent! Thanks for the info. I had no idea that those lines deteriorated over time and restricted flow. Gotta file this one for future reference.

WOrse YET is the problem is a Flap that you put the line on 1 way and it may work and the other way and it does not work! Then The NOS SOlenoid was truly bad which covered this problem!

WHo said NOS was SImple??

Yes Randall will be riding also! We will dial it in with him and then I will Ride Sunday!

I understand about the "STreet Bike Class" But I NEED to go and get this Bug off of my Back. Over the WInter I am going to install the OD Gears and strengthen the Lower end the ARP Studs I have and maybe go to 1/2 inch Cylinder Studs so that I can more safely spray a 200 to 250 Shot of NOS

I do not know what the Limit of Spraying is but I plan to find out so I also plan to order a set of even thicker topped Pistons and another Cylinder.

Mr. Hill that's a heavy hand of nos!!!!!!!!! Can't wait to see it go!!!!!!!!!!! When your doing your rebuild you might want to check out Calico Coatings, they have a nice selection of thermal coatings for piston tops, exhaust ports, valves, and chambers. Might help to keep the heat out of the head, off the intake valves and out the exhaust. They also do Black or Chrome type ceramic coats for headers.

Thanks Dr. Gary! I have always said that the Power limit of a 4 stroke engine is the Exhaust Valve's ability to handle heat! I will "Seriously" look into that because I am going to have a serious amount of heat to deal with!

Next time i go i hope my turbobusa is sorted so i can go over 200mph. I think i can do that with the hp the busa has.

Glad to see that you have to get "Started" I thought it was all of the time Harry you should make it close to 180! If not, then we will have to make a tank for you like the one on my bike that allows Space for the front part of your body!!

Thanks for the offer VH. I have 1 10 lb bottle and 2 2.5s, which suits me fine....for now. I am thinking about more nos or going into the motor this winter and I too will be looking at sizes/quantities similar to your set-up.

But it may be a good idea to take it w/you filled up...ya never know....maybe you or someone else will need it after all....

OH Oh! Glad I finally fixed my stuff and have good plans over the WInter for FINALLY Installing my OD Gears and Case studs. No for sure I am going with the 1/2 cylinder studs so I can spray over 200 just to keep up with you!

Without modifications you can set up 2 -2,5 Bottles 1 in the tail section and 1 in a Swingarm

By the way, Vincent. I want to hear all the details on your nitrous setup when you get back. I missed a lot of your older posts about the system while I was away from racing. Now that I'm wanting to spray my motor, I want all the details that you can give me.

I may also be interested in buying those 2.5-lb bottles from you when you get back.

Good luck!!!

Trial and Stupidity is what I have!

I have just gone throught the "Trial" and now see what I was Stupid about! (Never checking the Flow from the Bottle to the system 1 piece at a time!)

Simple, Get an NX Motorcycle kit for about $600 somewhere with the Braided lines (List a little higher). Use that as your Basis. Schnitz Ignition and NOS Controller. Chuck Wilburn NOS Pressure COntroller. Then decide if you want to direct inject (Drill the throttle bodies one of the Vacuum ports) or blow through System (Bear Stacks is what I used) all in the Airbox)

The only thing missing here is the Fuel! I made up something to avoid using a spearate fuel pump and went through a lot to develop it. Buy a good MPS Nos Button (I broke the trash one I had an at a time the bike was going 199 I could have gone 202!

The Bottles are yours
