zx9 engine questions?
I am building a 2000 zx9 engine for my friend this winter. Anyone know a good combo to run for power? I am going to get the big bore kit coming from Muzzys but what else should I do? One guy said to put the 99 cams in it, said they where a little bigger and make a few more HP. Anyone know where I should install the cams? Doug, Rob... Help me out guys!!!

I dont think cams will help ya very much. If anything the 2000 cams are better than the previous years. From everything I have heard, you can get gains on the older engines with cams, but the 2000's are allready damn good.
Just follow Muzzys guidlines on the bigbore kit and go have fun!!!

We did our initial testing with the 99 cams for that very reason. On paper they looked better. BUT the 2000's worked better- more mid range and almost the same peak.
Go with the 2000's

Thanks Doug. Where should I degree those cams at? Anything else I should do while I'm in there?
