Newbie, Looking to Put AM Exhaust On?

Hi:

Fresh on the block with a 03 12R and I am looking to put an exhaust on her, I like the look of the existing bronze colored mid pipe and might want to put a matching can on but can't seem to find one that would be a match so might need to put a new system on altogether and a PCM.

Any advice on what to do?

Thanks in advance

well, apparently nobody has welcomed you or replied to your thread... soo...
welcome to bikeland.
i see you have an 03- nice bike. glad to see you chose a 12- it ought to keep you very happy. my 2003 zx-12 has exceeded my imagination and continues to impress me- i still smile everytime i see her.
anyway, if you want a coloured exhaust canister, check out micron exhaust. if you want the best quality, id go with akrapovic or tiforce. i went with several muzzys exhausts on my 12, i had the full muzzys over carbon system, and recently switched to the muzzys megaphone conversion kit with includes a midpipe and can and utilizes the existing muzzys header.
akrapovic and tiforce are pretty much regarded as the best. i chose muzzys because of their invested time in all areas of the zx-12 and wide variety of performance products, unlike other companies that just specialized in exhausts. i personally would not buy any exhaust from any company that is not of the four i mentioned. but whatever you do, dont get a slip-on.
furthermore, you ought to invest in the muzzys kleen air block off plates, a power commander IIIr, and bmc race flow air filters... and maybe muzzys aluminum fan blades. this little package lets the 12 breathe a bit easier.

edit:
feel free to send me a PM if none of these antisocial fucks chime in and give you the advice you need.
regards,
Scott

I have an Akrapovic system that I've used on my 2001 ZX12R. I don't know if it will fit on a 2003 or not, but I'm sure some one knows and will put the info on this thread. It still looks pretty good and works like new. I will sell it for 1/2 price. It has the carbon fiber cannister.

Countersteer thanks very much for your welcome to the site, I am very impressed with the ZX12 which I have only had for a week now, most people in my area are asking me why get rid of my 04 RC51 Hayden Replica, well truth be known I am 40 next year and chilling out just a tad, plus my girlfriend likes to ride with me and is sick of getting burned by the 2 Bros pipes and the bruises from that tiny seat which limited us to small distances

Jetlegsuk,
Thats about what I wanted for mine. Shipping would probably be about $35.00. If the other one is as good as claimed, you might like it better. I couldn't find it either useing that address.

Buddy: I saw that ad but he states at the top that he was putting all of his stuff on Ebay in April so I am sure its all gone by now, plus I think he was in Japan which would complicate matters, do you have any pics of your system?, I am going to buy before the weekend since I have the lowering kit coming tommorow and my Mech wants to get started on it.

Thanks man

Jetlegset,
I'm not sure, but I don't think the forum monitors want us negotiating sales on these threads. As such, I will send you a P M with further info. Thanks
