Starter Relay

Has anyone out there had any problem with the Magnetic Starter Relay? It is located in the battery tray and the positive battery cable runs through it before it goes to the terminal on the outer side of the tray. When I try to start my bike, all I get is a repeated clicking sound and it sounds like it is coming from the battery compartment. I tested with an ohm meter to see if voltage was getting to the outer terminal, and it is not conducting electricity. It almost sounds like the battery doesn't have enough voltage, but it is showing almost 13. Is this maybe not enough? I would appreciate any help I could get. Thanks in advance.

Starter Relay

I had the exact same symptom on my old ZRX1100. Replaced the relay, same problem. Turned out the positive battery cable was loose.

yep... loose cable or Low/bad battery.... Check the cables then charge the battery. If that fails to work then start looking a other possiblities.

It's ALIVE!!

After a couple of days on the trickle charger I put the battery in the bike, turned the key, hit the button and less than a second later, she fired up! I'm so glad that the battery was low on voltage. Thanks to everybody that had a suggestion. This list is an irreplaceable resource. Thanks again.
