Z1200 Project

I've been waiting patiently for years for a manufacturer to build a big comfy naked bike without being watered down, with more than enough hp/tq, decent handling, etc... along the lines of a Z1200(based off ZX12R), CB1100(Blackbird), or GS1300(Busa), maybe even a Z1400.

I think I'm going to build one, was going to buy another Superhawk for this as I think the V-twin, side radiators, and beautiful tank and tail section would suit it well, but I want more cc and hp than that and I don't really want to buy another bike. My ZX12R has been sitting for months, battery dead, engine smokes on start-up(valve guides and/or seals), transmission doesn't want to shift, valve cover leaks, needs new spark plugs, brake rotors, and tires.

Do any of you ZX12R guru's have any experience with converting a ZX12R to a proper naked bike? I'm wanting to do this right, not just tear everything off and ride, it'll just end up looking like a stunta's crashed bike.

I'm sticking with the stock clip-ons and rear sets as I'm only 5'6" and it feels like a real relaxed riding position to start with, especially after putting so many miles on the now sold 954 with high rear-sets. Not sure if I'm going with a single round headlight, dual(speed triple like), or one of those Acerbis deals to help cover the huge gauge panel. Anyone know of where I can find a deal on reliable light(s)? Not sure what I'ma do with the wiring and hose, have to get it all apart and cross that bridge when I come to it.

Does anyone know of any other obstacles I have to over come to do this right?

Maybe part the bike out and pick up a Z1000, sell that motor
and drop in a ZX-14 engine. I saw in a mag where they took
a 1397 or 1507( can't remember) Busa engine and dropped
it into a ZRX1200, it looked pretty good. I think them Euro folks
have a GS1400. Good Luck and keep us up to date. Them
SuperHawk radiators might not be able to handle the cooling
needs, but would probably keep your hands warm in the winter
if left in the same configuration.
