Changing steering head bearings

Hi!

When was changing the fork oils for the summers rides I noticed that the steering head bearings on my 12 were gone. There is a very notable barrier when turning from the straight position. So the question is are there any hints or thing to look other than the service manual says? And by the way it's '00 model.

Well no answers but I have one interesting thing that I noticed when I disassembled the front end. There was quite a lot of sand in the steering head!!! All the seals looked OK and the only way I think that the sand can come to that place is that there is something wrong with the frame because there is quite large opening inside to the other parts of the frame. So it seems that there somewhere is a hole that makes it possible to the sand to come in. Now I have figure someway to plug that opening. Anybody else ever noticed this?

Noticed the same in my airbox i think someone posted that it's the remnants from the casting process, hope Kawasaki were more careful with the engine casings!!
