how to get in a magazine?

how exactly would someone get their bike featured in a magazine? anyone here ever been in a mag? was thinking about at least getting professional pictures taken of my bike in the next few weeks- and with all the time and money i have invested i am curious to see if my bike is good enough to be in some mag or another. will post digital pics etc next weekend- wrapping up college finals this week so things been very busy. in the mean time, this is a list of most of the mods with some pics of plastics after paint. keep in mind this is a true daily driver! any advise would be appreciated.

Hey, I like your blinkers in the winglet idea. I just had my bike painted. Nothing fancy like yours. Mines has a black base coat followed by a blue pearl, then clear. Looks black in low night but shine some light on it and the pearl pops out. I also had the rims powder coated gloss black and the swingarm a textured semi-gloss black that matches the frame. The engine covers are painted semi-gloss as well. Looking forward to your pics.

I've had several in mags. Let's see some pics. It has to be unique and well executed, Each magazine has their own favorite styles, of course. What goes in Two Wheel Tuner won't usually go in Cycle World.....

I've also had a project bike full featured, and several friends have had their cars / trucks featured in magazines. For the most part either they come looking for you because they've heard about this bad ass fill in the blank or a photographer spots it at an event or show and asks you to do a photo shoot. So the easiest way is to just ride it to alot of big shows and events and keep it in the open. Another option is to send in GOOD pics and a breif write up to the mag's you read for their readers rides section. You're just finishing school so how are your creative writing skills? If they like the bike or it's what they're looking for either you'll end up with a pic in that section or they'll call you and ask you more about it.

Good luck

BTW chicks in the pictures work really well for some mag's and not so well for others but guys in the pic's with the bikes rarely do well with any of them...
