Where did the noise go?

You know everytime you turn the key to the on position the guages do there cycle thing and you here that noise.What is the noise?because mine stopped doing it.I thought it was the fuel pump but it still runs fine.

That noise was the fuel pump. Put a muzzy pump in, if you want the noise back.

Swft,now the sound is back.I turned it on today and it sounded like a bag of marbles then the next time i turned it on its back and sounds normal again.Do you think the fuel pump might be going on it?Its got about 500 miles on it now(over the hill).lol

The noise...

The fuel pump cycles if the bike is in neutral, and the kill switch is in the run position.

I never thought about it but mine makes noise then becomes quiet. I always figured the noise disappeared because the system was pressurized.
I just had to go test it, noise then quiet. Then when turning the key on again no noise. Probably the system was still pressurized. My Triumph does exactly the same thing only it's quieter.

Hey swft! The Muzzy's pump, does it mount in the tank? From the pictures on their site it is hard to tell. What are the pump flow rates stock vs Muzzy's. I think I remember a post of 220 vs 340 somewhere. Does the Muzzy's pump come with a regulator? How about pressures stock vs Muzzy's.
