1299 kit from APE

Anyone heard of this kit and if so how much of a power increase could i expect from it as well as cams and the usual airbox pipe and power commander ?

Thanks for the help !

Yep, good price and fast if they have the stuff in stock. I'd say you should
be between 185-200HP all depending on the set up. It ain't a drop in though.
You'll have to do a little shaving here and there plus a touch on the starter
gear. Then you have the overheating / starting problems if your in the South.

All depends on what you'll be using it for. If it was street go cheap and drop
in a 1270 or 1290 piston kit. Or if ya got up front coin to burn check out Mr.
Turbo or Muzzy for thier turbo kits. With them you'll get an easy 220-240HP
on low boost.

Good luck and keep us up-to-date on what you'll be doing.

Thanks for the info , i think the bike runs pretty hot already , it really is out of its element in the city eh .
for the hp estimates you made of 185-200 is that Rwhp ? as well as the turbo ?
I hate to admit it but the bike feels like its not powerful enough .
i have 3500 km on it and maybe it needs a valve inspection ?
Is there any way to tell if the valves are out aside from power loss ?

All i know is that i need alot more torque effortless T , that is why i was thinking of the big bore kit .

Thanks again for the insights . i will keep posting my progress but it might be a while down the road .

one more question , how much of a noticable power gain can be felt from Pc 111 , end can and filter and maybe some cams durring first valve adjustment ?

KHI claims there is 30 hp in there waiting to be un-corked ? that should be big ?

Yours runs hot now because it' lean in the driveability rpm's. That's where the PCIII makes the difference. Cooler running engine will make more power over all.

If you "Uncork It", you could see around 20-24 hp gains above 11,000 over a stock exhaust.

Now if you add the 8% for ram air to that increase...

I've never heard of the 1299 kit. 1270, 1272, 1290 big bores. 1317 billet block but never the 1299 kit. Is it bore or big block or what???

You could check compression and/or pop the valve cover and check between
the cam and bucket with a feeler gauge to see if in spec. , But i'd bet everything
was just fine. Cheapest way to get what i think you want to feel is by loosing a
tooth or two on the front sprocket and/or adding two or more on the rear.

Even with a custom map my stock bike would come up to the hot line when it
was 100-104F and sitting in Texas traffic. Stock bike with PCIIIr slip on and K&N Filter
made 171HP. I'll be doing the stroker and looking for 200HP.
