Cams were the only difference between 00 and 01 heads.
IF you use your cams you will have no problems.
The difference is the position on the pick-up on the exhaust cam.
So yes you can use you muzzy cams in the 01 head.

Hi sorry ninja, i dun really get what u mean by the difference is on the position on the pick-up on the exhaust cam can u advise what steps do i need to take if i wanna use the 00 muzzy cams on the 01 head. i emailed muzzy and the reply i got was this 'The cam sensor is located on the exhaust cam and has different timing 00-01. The engine will not run if not indexed properly' . Sorry to trouble but how do i go about indexing the Cams

you know I re-read everything and correct me if I am wrong...
You have a 2000 model bike.
bad head.
2001 head to put on.
Muzzy 2000 cams.....
if that is correct, you can put your cams in a 2001 head and it will work fine! you just need to make sure that you use your 2000 cam sensor that is in your bad head....
everything should work fine...

it is how the sensor (on the cam) is cut into the cam the difference betweeen the 00 and 01 is about 180 deg off.
so they offer one for the 00 and one for the 01... that actual part on the cam is in different locations....

IF you are using the same cams that came out the bike that is all you need to do.
The sensor in the head is the same. The angle of the point on the pickup that is bolted to the end of the exhaust cam is different. Example @ tdc the 00 points to 3 on the clock
and the 01 up points to 9. just an example but you get the point.
If you are reusing your cams just shim and ride.
