Tank Skin Material?

Does anybody know exactly what the 12 tank skins are composed of (PVC, Polyurethene, Polypropolene, etc..)?

I've got one I've got to repair and its definitely too soft to be ABS as far as I can tell.

It seems to be more like the bumper covers on newer cars but those come in several different types of plastic.

Thanks

Edit: I've checked two different tank skins and I cannot find the material marking that most plastic parts have (unless its under the pads somewhere) and I don't want to rip those off unless I have to.

Dayum Blitzen, 24hrs without a reply.
If it makes ya feel better, I did try to search for it...Everything I could find pointed to ABS.
So you thinkin the tank matl. is different than the rest of the bike? Everything else on a bike is ABS isn't it?

Oh, and I forgot the Broncos played on SATURDAY over the weekend.
I was hosting our company Christmas party @ Rodizio Grill downtown.
( I did strategically position myself so I could see a TV though! )
...next weekend is Xmas........maybe the weekend after that...........?

Well C Man it was a roll of the dice.

I was hoping somebody here has screwed with the tank skins.

Once I figure it out, I'll post here.

Affirm on +2 - we'll work it out.

Blitz do you have a plastic specialty shop near you that does plastic welding? A good plastic welder can heat that shit up and smell it and tell you what it is. Or at least I know a shop that can do that. Damn guy can tell you spot on what exact kind of plastic you have and never miss. What about those guys that do the repairs on fairings that use to advertise over at .org?

Well, I do Gunner - but you know the Blitz.

I've got two donor skins that I can mess with. I am not going to pay Kawasaki $310 for that piece of plastic, so in a way I am doing this for all of us, yes? (You know as well as anybody I share my knowledge).

I understand your desire to find out so you can make your own repairs. What I was suggesting was a way to find out the material. Not to let them fix it for you, That would be too easy and would never do

Hey Blitz, not sure why this didn't strike me before......DUH..
I was the warehouse manager at Regal Plastics in Littleton for a couple of years....
Take it down to Regal, on Rio Grande (SantaFe & Bellevue area), used to be right next to the Electron iron foundry before they tore it down. Ask for Lou, tell him I sent ya, he'll get you an answer.
And if he doesn't know, he'll send you to the Regal Fab Shop, right across the parking lot. Ask for Rick over there, that guy has been fabbing plastic since Jesus was in little league.
