Go to your local shop and buy a set of generic ass mirrors and put them on. 20 bucks.
Work like a charm.

The B model mirrors are what the A model should have come with to begin with.

About $205 a set delivered from ronayers.com is the best price I have found.

They make a substantial improvement in the way the A model looks.

Trust me on this. All you have to do is remove the stalks and put the generics in the slots on the fairing. They look just fine. Ride the bike to the shop and check em out just to be sure. 200 bucks for mirrors! No thanks. Might as well get a Road King and buy one of those fancy Hardley wallets with the chain.

The difference is, the "B" Mirrors make the bike look OEM Factory, the Generic make the bike look After Market El Cheapo

Whats $200 today really in the whole scheme of things?

I mean shit, a lower with pads and decals is over $350 and I seem to end up replacing one of those every year or two for one reason (ladder falling) or another (gravel).

Forgot where I was for a moment there! You guys are right.
Besides the impact those generic mirrors have on performance is outrageous!
Once I installed them and put the bike on the dyno it was obvious to me that the $200 mirrors were the way to go.
Yuppies.
But I guess this post was initiated by a guy with 4 bikes. And 4 real good bikes to boot. Or at least 3 1/2 real good bikes. Hey Jay Leno, maybe you should pay the $200 bucks. What you gonna spend the money on anyway now that caviar is out of season?

If you're interested in going the "B" model mirror route (which looks far better than the aftermarket mirror route.....and most likely work better due to the weights in the mirrors, streamlining, etc.....IMHO), I have a RH in perfect condition from a "B" model I will sell for $60 plus shipping. If you go onto the ebay website you can most likely find a LH mirror and .....voila....you have a completed set....

So instead of buying a good pipe, you can weld a glass pack on, like Krak Pipe cody did... he was a good guy.. LOL...
oh how about getting a generic windshield, doesent matter you can trim it to fit anyway...

You know you might actually have something good but post a pix or part # that would be great!!
A generic could be anything? I did buy a cheap set off of ebay for the wife's R1 after I flipped it, but they are junk and I would not reccomend them.

i hated when this type of shit happens.i did not think anyone be offended by someone else having 4 fucking bikes!i have no problem using the generics if they get the job done and look better.as a matter of fact i did pick some up but did not fit for shit even after i trimmed on them.and by the way i dont consider myself anything like Jay Leno just because i bumped into good deals on my bikes at the right time.
oh shit i also have one of those wallets with chain and all.LOL
chill-out i'm just trying to replace mirrors for better looking ones.

I guess I shoulda put some smileys in that post to temper the sarcasm.

My apoligies.
I ain't hating on you for having some great bikes. I want to be you.
Mike is right.
Fun to be a sarcastic prick if you can also be helpful with the issue that got you cracking in the first place.
Gonna dig in the garage to see if I can find the package the mirrors came in and a part number.
