aluminum sound vs titanium?
Regardless of weight, I'm still better than stock. Will a titanium tailpipe give me a deeper sound than the aluminum? The 'tingy' aluminum sound makes my skin crawl. I'm trying to duplicate the sound of the stock exhaust. Does that deep growl come from the thick ass stock headers, or does the tail pipe have an almost 'tuning' effect on the sound? I know the stock pipe is titanium, but is it that or the headers. I miss the way that bitch used to Growl. I also recall Sarge12Rs bolt on yosh---I was quite jealous of that sound even though I was running a full system.
Maybe a good repacking will help, I know that my hindle is shot on the inards.
any thoughts?

Repack it. The tingly sound is because of that reason. I don't know if you can get the same stuff but the Arata has the best packing made. Check with Owen a Center Of Gravity.

You want to hear your 12 growl???
If you have an aftermarket exhaust take the baffle and all the fiberglass out of the canister, then start it up with the empty canister, now thats what Im talking about !!!

CR, that kinda noise is exactly what I want to get away from. Resonating Aluminum, YUK. I know for a fact that I have about 20% of my packing left. I'll try the arata packing and see how that works. Some of the other guys recommended a Micron system....
I think I will hold out for a new system until I got the funds for the stepped hindle. I saw one on a zx10 that look top notch.
thanks

Silent Sport Premium is the best packing material in the world; bar none. KTM and Akropovic use it as original equipment (as well as Area P and a host of others). You can check it out at http://www.areapnolimits.com
As far as aluminum, or other metals "sounding" different. You can see the differences, though extremely minor on a sound meter. But to your ear, no, doubtful you could tell the differences. It's all in the core design, packing material condition, and/or packing material itself.

There you go spoken by the man himself. If he's got it than I would purchase it from Mr Bryant instead of searching for it.
