Comparing the Pilot Powers and Supercorsas is comparing apples and oranges.....they are made for totally different riding......you cant get a SC hot enough on the street to make it work right, unless you ride like a flipping idiot and have some serious twisties.....

Thanks, HDL... then (as I had suspected) the SC's would be an inappropriate choice for me here in Florida on the street. That is why I hadn't bought into using race tires on the street here (other applications may differ) up to this point, but thought I'd ask in this specific instance, it having been recommended. I'd expected the "lukewarm" grip of the SC's would be inferior to that of a good street tire, and you confirmed it. Always better to know from specific cases than to guess from general principle, so thanks.

actually......

Though I do agree with what HDL says, and was only breaking his balls because I wasn't aware that there was any question about race vs. street rubber. (proabably because I have just skimmed over this thread)

I have to say that I know quite a few people that have used the Supercorsas on the street with good results. But this has all been limited to the DG area and riding WAY over what would remotely be considered "legal". I liked the Pirellis on the street, but the bang for buck factor was not there. That and they SUCK if you get caught out in the rain. Though powerslides on the gap in the wet are entertaining. Anyone who knows anything about tires will know that it's hard to get them up to temp, and keep them up to temp on the street. You might not get them in the optimum temp window, but you can make 'em work pretty good after you play with the air pressure and get used to them when they are cold. But then again it's a moot point, street tires for the street.

After reading over this thread again I have decided to buy at least one set of the Pilot Powers and see what they are all about. It's not that I have anything against the 014s, because I don't

Yeah we can ask our ol buddy Hyder about running race tires on the gap. That boy must of thought I was lying when I told him he wouldn't get those tires heated up enough. I guess he knew I wasn't when he threw the bike down the mountain.

LOL Bastard.
Bart, that crazy MF. I just about flipped out when he showed up this May. Only he would buy a plane ticket to fly to Alcoa just to party with us for one night then fly out the next morning.

Pilot powers are a good tire, and I have used them at the track with good results, BUT if you whant to get nasty and get some people to school and feell like Rosy, then BT002R, medium.

I cannot compare them 1- the price diference 2- diferent purpose 3 wear.

The zx12r eats racing tires for breakfeast, you dont have tire for lunch. Racing tires are not an option in this Dominican Republic heat.

Dunlops 208, I sell those to my enemies.
M-1 good tire, but for the price can get better: powers and 014

I use for the street Road in the brack and power in the front. Unless I have to get nasty, I have a 002 on the other rim and a power in stand by.

Pd . I whent to the south and I whent in a R1 2003, with moods, and I was accelerating full and I heard a monster screaming and It was my zx12r passing me by, at 195 indicated according to my friend, we have no cops, no real limit, this is the place to have this beast.!!!
Trenace for you.....

Yeah, the name implies no holds barred smack talking. But the last time I tried to ruffle some feathers over there the goddamned crybabies went into hysterics. It's no fun when you encounter that, we used to rock and roll on here and say whatever the fuck we wanted to say. To call that other forum the Smackhouse is a crime, only REAL Smackhouse Crew members know that. I'd call it Shithouse before I'd call it anything else, lame ass topics by lame ass losers that don't have the guts to take their own fucking lifes. I say we ride on them biatches and liven it up. It's all in the name of fun, and who here doesn't like fun. (besides 238WSD (wads swallowed daily)

we have a disclaimer in place for when they start crying right here. I said it's all in the name of fun.
