Only thing I can think of offhand is that may be the Hi Altitude ECM that was provided to a few people...
But there is NO SECRET MAGICAL ECU

sorry about the spelling should have been "heard" . Anyways the sequence of ECM for the ZX12R are 1069 for an 00, 1079 for an 01, and 1089 for an 02 etc.. The 1065 ECM was clearly manufactured before the standard 1069 ECM. I 'm not saying its magical I just want to know what it does. If anybody can help I would appreciate it..

It is a Euro spec'd ECM. England and a couple of other EU countries. The best 00 ECU was the pre-production one - :-)

I have the "high altitude ECU" so I can check out the number on it. Also wrote down the old number if anyone is interested in this. But basically the difference isin't in hp its in the driveability between different Ecu:s.

Ok, took little while until I remembered but here are the numbers. The original was 112100-0470 TBCF02 and the new "High altitude ECU" was 21175-1068 TBCF03. I noticed that the new ECU had a better - more smoother mapping and the Altitude didn't affect as much as in the older ECU. Those are/were on my Euro spec '00 ZX12. I remember seing in the service manula numbers for differen spec ECU:s but could find it when looked briefly.

My A1 has the high altitude ecu.
I had the "regular" ecu on it once to test it for a friend and you could definitely notice the difference. My bike idled about 100 rpm slower and was definitely richer.
I've always been very happy with the H.A. ECU. I frequently ride 11K - 13K elevation and its always ran good up there. Seems to do just fine at 3K elevation which is about the lowest I ever get.
